We seem to be having a lot of thread locked at the moment, due to each thread decending into childish name-calling,mainly because some people cannot accept that others do have differing opinions. Some of us want to have decent discussions about various issues /topics, but can't because the thread gets locked,and quite rightly as well, coz many of these discussions just go round and round in circles.

Can we all please chill out a bit as its starting to do my head in a bit

PS I dont want to appear as though I am getting narky or anything, but my enjoyment of a good discussion is being ruined...i hope most of you do agree with me

Too damn right.

I don't like locking threads, but when all the content is one person saying one thing, with a childish insult, and then another says the opposite with an equally immature insult, there's nothing else to do.

I spent the Easter vacation teaching in a class of Year 5s (9-10 year olds) and in all honesty some behaviour on these forums of late has been vastly inferior to those childrens'.

Nobody has been banned for several months now, and that's a record we want to maintain, although permanent and temporary bans are just the click of a mouse away.

I do for one.

I was involved in a good proper discussion which suddenly descended into mud-slinging which to be honest bores the sh*t out of me.

Differing opinions are what make the forum, it wouldn't exist otherwise but there's sharing opinions and then there's forcing people to share them by battering them with a very large (not literal) ram.

Yeah agreed...
A lot of sport is just opinion.. There is no right or wrong with the vast majority of it so in theory all there can ever be are "opinions"...

I think some people need to agree to disagree on matters that clearly dont have a right or wrong answer, and maybe see things from other peoples/nationalities viewpoints..

Anyway long may this brilliant forum grow!
