Hi everyone, after the meeting today i thought i'd post here and give everyone a brief rundown on what decisions were made...
I will be sending u all a full copy of the transcript that took place so u can see for urselves...
In attendance at the meeting was myself, Bugssy and Rich2001, Apologies from Eyes_Only...
* The 1st issue which was raised was the increase in teams and all board members were in favour of the increase and the out come was that there would be an increase of 4 teams into the WCC for Season 2, thus making 2 divisions of 10 teams, with the promotion/relegation being 3 up and 3 down...
Another change that is relevant to this topic is the season will be shortened so that teams will play each team in their division only once instead of the current twice...
The decision was made that the 4 new teams would take place in a play-off to decide which teams go in which division with the top 2 going into D1 and the bottom 2 going into D2, the new teams are Canterbury(NZ), Western Province(SA), Victoria(Aust) and Colts(SL)...
* Also coming in next season is the well awaited 4 day competition, this competition will be run in the same format as the 1 day comp with 2 divisions, 10 in each and the 3 up 3 down promotion/relegation....
The divisions in this comp will be determined on where u finish this season...
So next season every week instead of submitting 1 team you will submit 2 teams( 1 for the OD and 1 for the 4D)
* Next was the CA Cup and there were a few issues which were raised, 1st was the change of the CA Cup to a 25 over KO next season, With the extra 4 teams coming into the comp the format was also forced into a change and that being the teams who made the 1/4 finals for the CA Cup the previous season will get a free pass to the 2nd round as well as 1 team recieving a wild card to the 2nd round, but the biggest change to the CA Cup is the inclusion of the Academy teams who will now participate in the Cup....
* There was also the decision to increase the Academy teams to 3 to cater for the necessary amount of players needed for the draft... The new Academy series will begin in the next week or two with many more players becoming available...
* Next was that issue the DRAFT!!!!
he most talked about point since the beginning of the WCC, the board has agreed that the easiest solution was to stick with the plan 1st suggested which was to keep 10 players and get rid of the rest drafting in the rest in finishing order till u have a squad of 16...
Also being implementde is a Loan option in which at the start of the season all managers will be given $40,000 with which, they can loan in players from the academy teams for weeks during the season, all academy players will be given a weekly wage ranging from $10,000 to $1,000 and for u to loan them u will use that money to pay their wages...
Once your money is gone u cannot loan in any more players, This can be used to cover injuries etc...
Also tied in with this wil be the betting agency in which each season 1/3 of your betting winnings will go towards the money u can loan players so if you win $30,000 you will have an extra $10,000 to use to loan in players...
* Also decided was that the managers for the all star game at the end of the season will be drawn out of a hat...
The All Star teams will also be selected by all managers who will submit their best 16 players in their division for the season and the 16 with the most votes will take part in the All-Star series....
* Also implemented will be an ICC style table in which every game your team plays in you will recieve points placing u on a ranking table telling you where u r situated compared to other managers...
U will recieve 4 points for a Division 1 Win, 3 for a Division 2 win, 2 points for a CA Cup win and 1 point for a friendly win...
This table will also judge the Manager of the Month and Manager of the Year awards with the team which makes the biggest move in the table recieving the honour....
* Finally the last topic was that of inducting a new member into the WCCC, the board voted unnanomously to accept Lord_of_Darkness onto the board...
The only subject which was not raised was the Umpiring panel but will be discussed shortly with Eye_Only!!!!
