Finance Idea

Well everyone else is having their say, so heres a idea

For the first season each team has the same budget (future years are based on the previous season's results)

Players must spend >80% budget on wages, but may retain up to 20% for hostile bids.

On any bid, the manager with the player may opt to match the bid, and immediately retains the player with no other player able to make a bid for him in the period. OR unless we do it as when a hostile bid is made, it's made public and then we allow a 1 day period after the hostile bid for everyone to make one offer then the current manager has to match the biggest?

A hostile bid must be >25% more than of current salary.

When a player is signed on a hostile bid, a player must be released to make room for the new player - he can then be bid for by players starting at £0, and the higest bid at the end of a timed period gets the player but can then be subject to a hostile bid once and once only.

If players are traded, they retain their current salary, and are protected from hostile bids.

If a manager doesn't wish to meet a hositle bid, the player is then up for auction, and goes to the highest bidder (prior to a deadline set by the board) - he is then protected.

All hostile bids are done in secret until the manager in question accepts or rejects (the only news being on the forum the such a player is being bid for, and then the outcome)

All bids will be on the forum first come first serve if a tie, and NO editted posts (a hostile bid is submitted (in secret) and then the fact that it has happened is posted (to prevent others doing the same) - basically then if the player matches the bid, it stays secret, otherwise it goes public and bids are on the forum!)

Basically this idea offers a much wider range of getting players in, standard trade, hostile bid, released player bids etc

It incudes the money in a simple fashion that alot of manager want

Managers can protect their players from transfer in one easy move.

Simple to implement as managers decide their own players wages, so no additional work apart from a person keeping tabs on what's happening

Also note that this is just an example of the idea, changes and a more detailed set of rules / intructions can be drawn up if succesfull.

What's your opinions people?

I have only one problem with this. If a manager only logs on 2 or 3 times a week, he may lose players to a hostile bidder. Some guys don't trade at all during normal trading periods. How will they cope with this. There must be a safeguard against this.

Yeah i dont like the idea mainly because of the hostile bids. It will put some managers at a disadvantage.

I think, from talking to Rich last night, that a hostile bid would be made off forum direct to the manager and also to one other member (who is responsible for tracking the system)

That way, those that don't come on the forum aren't penalised, and I imagine that there'd be a 2 or 3 day response time allowed for that to allow for managers not beiing so active as others.

What happens if I'm away that week, and don't have a chance to respond to these 'hostile bids'???

If you were away for that week, I guess you'd be pretty screwed as regards trading!

Seriously though, if you left warning you were away, then that would be taken into account.
