If there's one place in Nicholls' game where he can get a little loose, it is that no-foot-movement punch through the offside against the ball that isn't full enough to drive.

Yeah. Since the 2015 WC at least. That's not to say he's the best middle over pacer. But certainly the best for England. Esp with Stokes playing more and more of a 6th bowler role.
He's got a bowling average under 30 bowling mostly with the old ball. He's a massive boon for England and he'd easily have played over Behrendorff for Australia and I'd argue he's better than Cummins in ODI cricket, at least as first change. Better than any Indian quick not named Bumrah too. Only New Zealand would leave him out (he wouldn't displace Henry, Boult or Ferguson).

So, just come from baking a cake, as too nervous to watch the start.. it looks reasonable.. I have to go into another room in an hour( Silverstone ).. and missing the men’s tennis final for this.. need a win from England today ..:D

Nicholls randomly tonning up in a WC final would have been so random lol. Kinda sad it didn't happen

Nah, would have Shami over him in the middle overs. Bhuvi obviously better as a new ball and death bowler.

Out at the moment so keeping an eye on scores is the pitch a minefield or is it deceptive what will England feel comfortable chasing on this deck do we reckon?

It’s hard to say. I wouldn’t be shocked if we got 260 and knocked the top off England. Also wouldn’t be shocked if they really came after us and chased it easy

I reckon 270 is a good score.
