With a prolonged run of indifferent scores, contributing nothing to England, has the time come for dropping Bell finally?
Yes, keep him until the end of the Ashes.Keep him in for the rest of the series IMO. He deserves the opportunity.
Shah is a quality batsman who deserves a chance. Besides, who else would come in for Bell?I think it's time to say 'bye for this series Ian', but it's not time to say hello to Shah... no way.
In this series no-one. In the slightly longer term you can argue Michael Vaughan, and for me, Ravi Bopara would contest Shah for the position. I think Shah deserves his opportunity for doing pretty much all he can to get in the side. But personally I love the look of Bopara and believe he can be a top 4/5 England batsman for a long time.Shah is a quality batsman who deserves a chance. Besides, who else would come in for Bell?
Yup, but obv that won't solve our problems in the top 3. Depending how the next few weeks pan out, I think we're looking at something like this at the start of our summerIn this series no-one. Looked odd at the time, looks even worse now.All begs the question of why we only brought one extra specialist batsman, whilst we brought three spinners.
because england underestimated windies bowling and you guys obviously wanted to find who your premier spinner was going to for the ashes. All begs the question of why we only brought one extra specialist batsman, whilst we brought three spinners.
Sounds horribly plausiblebecause england underestimated windies bowling and you guys obviously wanted to find who your premier spinner was going to for the ashes.
Shah is a good player i will admit that, but i'd rather see players like Joe Denly or Rob Key in the national squad... to me shah looks like he's defusing an atomic bomb everytime he bats, he's always so tense every time he bats surely that can't be good for you?Shah is a quality batsman who deserves a chance. that is exactly right.Shah is a good player i will admit that, but i'd rather see players like Joe Denly or Rob Key in the national squad... to me shah looks like he's defusing an atomic bomb everytime he bats, he's always so tense every time he bats surely that can't be good for you?
