End of Season Crystal Ball

With WCC season 6 winding to a close and some of the most important matches to be played all season still on the fixtures card I decided that it would be time to take a peek into the crystal ball and see just what will happen at the end of the season, who will be going up, and who will be going down.

The biggest prize awaits one of three possible contenders in season 6. Pre season favorites Tamil Nadu have lived up to all the hype, Lancashire have continued on from last seasons impressive efforts, and South Australia continue to remain a force. Next rounds match is the most important left on the card as Lancashire host Tamil Nadu.

The relegation battlers are a long way from the top as Kent, Surrey and Queensland all looked out of their depth in season 6. Surrey whilst being last have the easiest run home however only meeting one of the top 3 sides, and should be able to make up the ground required to avoid 6th place, the fight for 6th I believe will come down to Queensland and Kent. Kent looked shakey in beating Queensland last round, however Queensland were woeful and I find it hard to see them picking up the pieces and avoiding the wooden spoon.

Tamil Nadu must like their chances of taking out the title this season even without star batsman Oliver Cardew. Their attacking brand of cricket should see them overpower Lancashire next round and assure that the title is theirs. The battle for 2nd and 3rd I believe will come down to the final round where Lancashire take on Sout Australia.

Predicted Finish.

1. Tamil Nadu
2. South Australia
3. Lancashire
4. Kent
5. Surrey
6. Queensland
