Hows your team feared after 4 weeks of competition in season 4??? Lets hear your thoughts on the drama as it has unfolded so far and how do you rate your chances for the remander of the season???

VB Cup: Poised interestingly ATM. We thrashed Queensland in remarkable fahsion, but then got done by Worcestershire, losing the inaugural Steve Prefontaine Cup match. Its just a matter of seeing how things pan out. But I'm not confident of making the top 2, but I'm not exactly concerned if we fail ither.

One Day: Two awesome wins, over what I considered to be division 3's top guns. If we can keep this form up no doubt we'll be looking at promotion. However last season we rocked Karnataka socks, beating them by 98 runs, then managed to lose 4 of our last 5 games. I'm taking nothing for granted. I'd say we'll finish 2nd.

Four Day: Two games, again against our toughest rivals, saw a draw and a tie, both games we could have and should have won. The next three games see us play some of the weaker sides in division 3. If we can beat them. I rate our chances of going all the way and winning the division. If we lose, its quite possible we'll be looking at another season in division 3.

VB Cup With a first game replay eminent and a good win in the second game, Auckland hasn't been to bad.

4D Two wins in two games, perfect. What more could I ask for?

OD A win over ACT, but a dissapointing show v Glamorgan. Hopefully we can crank up the intesity against Free State though.

Team in general The youth movement has really payed off to date, with Plummer being superb this season and Weekes having a match-winning performance to his name. Devin London has been silently solid and new addition, Smith has been very consistent. Just about everyone seems has gotten runs or wickets at one point in the season. Alex Tudor and Liyanage have risen to the occasion and become a decent new ball pair for Auckland.

Prediction The best is yet to come.

Season goal To gain some respect for Auckland in Season 5.

1 win, 1 draw in 4 day and 1 win 1 loss in 1 day - nice to get some better results under our belts.

Guyana Progress

Guyana has a new look for season 4 with only two players retained from the season 3 roster. The Guyana management have yet to find the right mix of players for both the four day and one day versions of World Club Cricket. This is the story so far:

VB CUP:

(L, W)

A first up loss to Colts was followed by a tight victory over Tasmania.

Leading run scorer: A Chopra (57)
Leading wicket taker: J Lawson (4)

Four Day

(L, L)

Guyana have lead on the first innings in both games they have played only to be let down by poor second innings batting efforts. While the bowlers have been bowling tight, with the exception of D Mackenzie none of the bowlers have been able to strike at regular intervals. C Baugh has been the only Guyanese batsman to show any sign of consistency, the return of C Perren from injury will be welcomed.

Leading run scorer: C Baugh (166)
Leadiing wicket taker: D Mackenzie (9)

One Day

(L, W)

The batsman have faired better in the one day format for Guyana. During the first two rounds of the competition Guyana have bowled first and the bowlers have been expensive and set challenging totals for the batsman to chase. Round one against Northern Districts saw the batsman fall short of the mark but they bounced back against Somerset in round two chasing 276 for victory on the back of R Sarwan's 95 off 87 balls.

Leading run scorer: R Sarwan (100)
Leading wicket taker: R Sarwan (3)

The Guyana management are looking for more consistency in the batting department coupled with strike power in the bowling.

Well to say the least, Somerset have been pathetic. We've dug a grave for ourself in the early rounds, some losses that many people labelled "kinda ****ed". But a small turnaround has brought some hope into the Somerset players minds, and if we can take advantage, it would be good.

4D

It began as I expected for once - badly. But this was the only form of the game we have performed to a certain extent. Our first game was close, and a mild upset with the win over the Vics did us no harm either.

Record : 1/1

Mindset: Kinda Happy

OD

Kill me

Record: 0/2

Mindset: See above

VB Cup

Well we've won 1. Don't know how.

Record: 1/1

Mindset: Meh

Mr. Ponting, I think that your expecting too much of your players. Remember stats aren't always the deciding factor in OD, its a lot more of a raffle, where as IMO stats are more impotant in FD. Just keep the faith in what you think is your best possible line up, and maybe some magic will happen .

VB CUP: 2 wins from 2 games and going ok. happy to finish in the top 2 in group 1

fd : not traveling so good so far with a draw and a loss but can easily get some confidence and get some wins, with our 1 loss not that big of a loss

one day : 2 from 2 and ontop of div 1. with most of the boys firing in the one day form, still yet to come up against the big rivals sa but it could be the gae of the year.

overall : going well in the oneday game but think we could be going a little better in the fd. not to concerned asthe calibre of players anything is likely to happen.
a few big games coming up and the boys will need to fire.

Province Christmas Report

As the side takes a break for Christmas each of the players have been issued with a report card outlining the teams peformance in general.

Four Day Cup: The one we really wanna win boys. To put it honestly the start has been tremendous. An easy first up win against Somerset to ease us into the swing of things then an important win against Colts. To contain Colts like that in the 2nd innings again is a huge credit to the boys. Stand out players are Samaraweera and Matthie whilst some players, you know who u are, need to pull their socks up.

One Day Cup: Dissapointing. The Free State and ACT game were always going to be the toughest two in the division, both with great teams. We're not out of this one yet but the batsman need to adjust to the free scoring nature of one day cricket whilst the bowlers have ot keep on concentrating on line and length.

VB Cup: What started out brilliantly soon took a nose dive against Mumbai. All in all however after two rounds to have won one is a good result considering we've played the two top teams. Things shuld get better from here and we can still push for the next round.
