Dropped after playing well in last test?

I can think of a few players who were dropped after playing particularly well in their last test. Jason Gillespie got a double hundred and was dropped. Danny Morrison batted for 166 minutes in a final wicket partnership with Nathan Astle to save a test match and was not picked again. The butt of many a joke, Heath Davis took 5/100 odd in his last match and was dropped.

What other contributions can you think off where a cricketer made a solid contribution and was never picked again?

I would have said NZ opener Aaron Redmond, who scored 83 in his last test innings against Lee and co. in Australia, only to be dropped. Bit of course he was recalled for the 1st test against the Windies a few weeks back to cover injury.

Rodney Redmond the star of this thread.

Howarth also scored 80 odd in the West Indies against their dreaded attack but that damage was already done by his previous performances. He protested in the media.

Looking forward to when couch cricket fans 50 years from now look back at the career of Mohammad Amir and wonder why such a young player got dropped after a 5fer. WAC

Any Queensland batsman that dominated attacks in the 90s (specifically Stuart Law and Martin Love).

Meh, really don't think this counts. He was only in as an injury replacement so he wasn't exactly "dropped", and I highly doubt it'll end up his last Test anyway.

Thorpey the obvious one. Made 66* versus the Banglas and would quite likely have made a ton in what was his 100th test had the plug not been pulled and was rewarded with the arse for the following 2005 Ashes.
