I don't think we could compare two more similar and closely ranked players.

Both very overshadowed by better and more explosive team mates and of my top 40 ATG cricketers they are ranked one behind the other at no.s 38 and 39.

The bowling all rounder vs the no. 3 specialist slip

Think at his best, Pollock was a little better than Dravid at his best.

I'd go Dravid on primary discipline by a small amount. He was imo the second best batsman in the world behind ponting in the early-mid 2000s. Pollock was usually decisively behind quite a few bowlers imo.

Pollock a superior cricketer overall.

There were quite a few contenders for being second best to Ponting in early-mid 2000s - Dravid. Lara. Kallis. Hayden.

I went with Dravid slightly. Good match.

Pollock tapered out after 2003 to become quite negotiable. Was so sad seeing him bowl offspinners in SL.

Dravid had a relatively shorter period in between in which his form suffered and he picked up towards the end.
