Yes. Dravid has a bit more going for him overall. Held his own in the late 90s. Even better overseas output before their respective declines. Amla never had a series in his decline on the same level as Dravid in England when he was on his way out.

But I don't think they're that far apart. Amla had much tougher home conditions which restricted his production threshold, didn't bat in an easier position, and he had success in England, Asia&the southern hemisphere which is essentially all bases covered while Dravid has an unconvincing resume v pace&bounce. He was too defensive v attacks that force the need for greater use of horizontal shots.

Dravid was a great player of spin but the best spinners would rather face him than someone like Sehwag or Azharuddin who will manipulate their lengths and give them nowhere to go.

Amla - underrated player of spin. Has some terrific blockathons in Asia. Tough to do when it's turning. Would have been an animal batting in Asia regularly in the 2000s.

Reckon Dravid is a bit lesser against spin because he is too compact to do what Indian batters did to obliterate spin, jump out and swing the bat, so his scoring seems generally inferior

Dravid was very efficient v spin overall. Very good at either getting as close as he could or as far away within his reach, but there have been better players v quality spin.
