Warwickshire are very happy to bring Rajagopal Sathish to Warwickshire. This was a very big surprise as we expected all the good four day bats to be picked up at an early stage. The former Tamil Nadu under 16 rep was very happy to headed for the Birmingham based side. "It is a great club with a great culture, filled with passion and heart. I should fit in really well there." He joins fellow Indians Laxman, Sriram and Hemanath Kumar at Warwickshire.

With the aquisitiion of Sathish Warwickshire have assembled one of the strongest four day batting lineups in WCC history. If I'm not mistaken the side will feature five batsmen averaging over fifty. Howarth (59), Sriram (55), Wilmots (52), Laxman (51) and now Sathish (50) will be one hell of a task for any team to deal with. Perhaps the one thing it lacks is an allrounder. This is all that sets it apart from some of the recent Kent and South Australian batting line ups.

Tamil Nadu are delighted to acquire the brilliant Kieran Powar. With averages of 47 and 43 he will find a regular spot in both forms in the very strong looking Tamil batting order. The four-day side of things now looks very good with the top few batsmen's projected averages. The Tamil batting currenty looks like this, Gareth Eaton (58), Viv Chandrasekhar (53), Matt Hayden (50), Yeovani Tully (48), Mike Hussey (45) and the newly acquired Kieran Powar (47).

The acquisiton of Powar was almost unbeleivable as manager Andrew Cloete was quoted. In every draft Cloete had taken part in the quality batsmen normally always wnet in the first 10 or so picks. However at pick 21 Tamil Nadu obtained Powar. Already boasting a top bowling line-up, Cloete revealed that they needed one more middle order batsmen before bolstering the bowling.

In a parting shot to fuel the TN-Warickshire war, Cloete was quoted as saying that Warickshire's pick of Rajagopal Sathish was "wasted". While Sathish boasted the 4D average of 50, his One Day average of 33 left alot to be desired. But Cloete's main point was the number of Four-Day games that Rajagopal had played. With only 8 games played he revealed that the sim would lower his average to around 44-48. Which means TN's pick of the all-round batting genius of Kieran Powar was a far better pick than Sathish. Which is quite staggering considering that Warickshire were two picks ahead Tamil Nadu.

Lancashire are pleased to have acquired a quality spinner in 18yr old W.Pointer (s/r 37).
This definitely plugs a gap in the squad.

hmmm, Thierry mentioned in the other thread that he quite clearly kept A Lovell, but A Lovell is still in the list. What's going on here?

LOL! I can't help but rubbing this in to Simon!!

I told him he should put the top bowlers at the top of his list just in case. But he said there's no point because they'll all be taken anyway!

I said he should probably put R Perrera there because he wants his 1D bowling, but he didn't bother.

He neded up getting Gill (s/r's of 63 and 26) when he could have had Perrera (42 and 25!!)

Sorry Simon, I can't help help but say, I told you so!!!!

Very pleased to have Dwayne Bravo as a very good FC bowler who also bats over 30 and an excellent OD bowler.

Welcome to Surrey Tino.

Number 2 pick from that low makes me wonder what other managers were doing.

i was surprised i got Laker, his overs/match-S/R-E/R combo gives him match figures of 41 overs 5 wickets 101 runs...

very happy with that each game....

Yeah you basically wanted ihm for his OD anyway didn't you? Althoguht I still think Perrera would have been a better option!
