**Draft Amendment**

Two issues of discussion...

The various complaints by managers as well as Marc and my basic desire to get ALftA back and running ASAP, has led to a suggestion on our part to speed up the draft process. Depending on the feedback we get from you guys, we'll adjust the draft to suit.

The draft amendment is simple:

  • Player draft continues as normal (48 hours max. between picks) until 15 players are drafted into each squad.
  • The draft will then be accelerated for the final 5 picks (Test and ODI). These picks must be made within 24 hours (max.) of each other, thus ending the final leg of the draft in 10 days time.

Secondly...

The trading period.

As many of you should know by now, there will be a brief trading period before the start of the season. The period will start after the group placements and fixtures have been announced and will take place for 48 hours. All trades must be finalized by both parties involved and approved by Marc and myself.

Trades must be conducted as follows:

  • An equal ratio of players traded. (ie 1 for 1, 2 for 2 etc.)
  • Like for like players. (ie ODI player for ODI player, Test player for Test player, Test and ODI for Test and ODI)
  • All teams must end up with at least 2 wicketkeeping options (in each squad - Test and ODI) at the deadline.

All managers will be notified via email as to when the trading period begins and when it closes.

All gets my backing!

I will however again stress that asking me when the draft will finish will not speed it up - I don't know how many times I've had to say this, but it is getting a bit annoying frankly.

I like that.

To the people who do ask: 20 rounds * 2 (Test and ODI) = 40 rounds = 30 * 2 days + 10 * 1 day = 70 days total.

Do the maths.

I'd be happy with a reduction to 24 hours after 12 players are in each squad.
