Butcher and Ramprakash both failed in the second innings but Ian Ward is 34* and, if the rain stops, we need to get him then knock over the mid-order and tail to get the win.

Not really county cricket but did any of u guys see the result of the Kent vs Lashings match?

Anybody who didn't see it here's a breif summary.

LASHINGS REST OF THE WORLD XI 147-8 off 28 overs. Jimmy Adams 43no, Grant Flower 43.

KENT 71-3 off 9.3overs (Target 68 off 10 overs) Fleming 44no.

KENT WIN BY 7 WICKETS (Duckworth/Lewis)

Kent snatched victory from the jaws of defeat when, in a dramatic penultimate over, skipper Matthew Fleming hit Waqar Younis for 20 runs which included a six and three fours.

Up to that moment,it seemed that Lashings were about to retain the Titans of Kent Challenge Cup with the home side chasing 68 off 10 overs.

Kent bowled tightly in this rain affected match and restricted the visitors to just 147 off 28 overs. Pick of the Lashings batsmen were Jimmy Adams and Grant Flower.

After yet another lengthy shower, the Kent innings was restricted to 10 overs.

Shoaib Akhtar showed why he is considered the quickest bowler in the world at the current time as two 'exocets' demolished the stumps of first James Hockley , and then Ed Smith.

However Flemimngs heroics, ably supported by Rob Key and Andrew Symonds, saw Kent through to a dramatic, but well deserved, victory with just three balls to spare

no wonder england are so bad that comp is crap. To many teams and they play to much. Half the player would not play first class cricket in any other place

i wouldnt exactly call England "bad"

they did so well beating pakistan and sri lanka at home at test , did well against india could have been a draw if it wasnt the rain , won the one dayers, did well in nz , came out of nowhere to draw the 1st test, won the 2nd one ! and in the 3rd test they are 377/6 at the moment against sri lanka
