That's kind of his point, to be economical. (FWIW)Goddard's SR of 95 is just flat out terrible though. Not a penetrative bowler by any means. Cairns SR 53.
Cairns has pretty similar averages to Botham and Kapil and they are ATGs.The contenders for the 15th spot have me in a quandary.I had to look closely at their careers before making a vote.
Mushtaq - Fine batsman but took only 1.38 WPM
Cairns - Averages are OK but not ATG (33.54 batting & 29.40 bowling)
Procter - Wonderful bowler but averaged in the mid 20s with the bat and his HS (48) is rather humble.
Goddard - His averages are solid (34.47 & 26.23) making him a real contender
Mankad - His averages (31.48 & 32.32) place him well below others
Holder - Potentially could finish above the others but current figures (31.14 & 26.94)
Goddard for me
Yeah, and economical bowlers have their place no doubt. Just no way should he be considered a better bowler than Cairns because of the better average. Cairns far better. That's kind of his point, to be economical. (FWIW)
Wilfred Rhodes 30 avg with the bat ,26.9 with the ball. And longevity. The contenders for the 15th spot have me in a quandary.I had to look closely at their careers before making a vote.

Am I missing something, or how does Jack Gregory not get a mention in this sort of list? The contenders for the 15th spot have me in a quandary.I had to look closely at their careers before making a vote.
