Well perhaps the finest Dev League season has come and gone. We laughed, we cried, we played cricket. Now we get down to the real purpose of playing Dev League cricket, aside from gaining endorsements and other financial mangle, the awards.

The First Annual (Seasonal) CWPA (Cricket Web Players Association) Awards

The nominees listed here are based on the top statistical performers of the season, but players are allowed to vote for one off-ballot performer, if they feel so inclined.

Please list your votes the format of your first choice first, second and then third choice:
1. Ricky Lara
2. Kevin Tendulkar
3. Sachin Dravid

First, the batting awards.
The nominees:

5D Batsman of the Season
SG Fitzsimmons (Cricket Web Blue)
Fitzsimmons was charismatic in his role as a top class batsman. Amidst an ensemble cast which did not quite live up to expectations, Simon Fitzsimmons star quality shone through with the role of a lifetime and a fitting performance.

2430 Runs @ 56.51
SR: 49.26
100s: 7
50s: 11
HS: 214

Håkon Mørk (Cricket Web Red
Another veteran in the business, Mørk was a revelation for Cricket Web Red. Having put in solid performances in previous projects, whilst being overshadowed by more prominent stars, Håkon Mørk took an opportunity to climb to the A-list with a stunning performance in his first lead role.

1615 Runs @ 41.41
SR: 27.32
100s: 3
50s: 11
HS: 143*

Rob Dauth (Cricket Web Red)
Having just moved into CWLand, Rob Dauth could never have expected to get his big break so soon. Indeed, he was cast immediately for the Reds and performed admirably in what many deemed a supporting role to Håkon Mørk. Still, Dauth gave a good enough account of himself and his talents to steal some of the more dramatic moments of the plot and earn a nomination.

1586 @ 36.88
SR: 49.32
100s: 3
50s: 9
HS: 153

Mike Wilson (Cricket Web Black)
A hit with the teenaged girls, Mike Wilson proved he has credibility as a serious act...er..cricketer when he was cast as an allrounder for the Blacks. Wilson gave an exciting interpretation of the role with crisp strokeplayer and high entertainment value with the bat.

1430 @ 38.65
SR: 75.70
100s: 3
50s: 10
HS: 147

Darren Dubb-Lynch (Cricket Web Black)
Clearly the underdog of the nominees, Dubb-Lynch was pleasantly surprised to receive a nod to compete for an award in this category. Solid glovework was matched competently by a classy dramatic performance by the first time player, as he brought flair to his role in making it his own.

1476 runs @ 35.14
SR: 64.57
100s: 2
50s: 10
HS: 118

OD Batsman of the Season
Chris Loc (Cricket Web Black)
An astonishing performance by this cricketer in his first season had the audience on their feet in applause. He quietly did his piece for the critically acclaimed Blacks and found great success and positive notice from the corner of the critics.

1044 runs @ 54.95
SR: 82.10
100s: 6
50s: 2
HS: 141*

Dinusha De Silva (Cricket Web Blue)
One of more under-rated in his field this season, De Silva continued the trend of rookie performances with a solid show amongst an overlooked cast. His contributions did not go entirely unnoticed by the viewing public and certainly has been recognized by the Association.

982 runs @ 49.10
SR: 77.80
100s: 1
50s: 8
HS: 120

Ash Chaulk (Cricket Web Black)
Around for a few seasons, Chaulk made his mark in the OD field this season, almost doubling his career acclaim. His solid glovework and exciting performance art thrilled the audience no end.

929 runs @ 58.06
SR: 80.20
100s: 0
50s: 8
HS: 99

Brendon Goff (Cricket Web Green)
In a packed field of tremendous performances, true veteran Brendon Goff lends his skills exceptionally. Though he got a late start, Goff's crisp yet brutal strokeplay lit up every stadium and helped bathe his team in glory at the season's end. His contribution included a superb effort in the final scene.

912 runs @ 82.91
SR: 83.60
100s: 3
50s: 5
HS: 140*

Rob Malone (Cricket Web Green)
Like his CW XI team-mate, Malone shone with the bat this season. From the opening spot he established a firm presence and expanded to his typically spectacular assertions.

834 runs @ 59.57
SR: 80.70
100s: 4
50s: 2

Please vote on the basis of performance and not colour or any other personal bias. The polls shall remain open for 48 hours.

ALL VOTES SHOULD BE SENT TO cwbcc1 @ hotmail dot com

Robertinho

Cricketer Of The Year
Honoured to even be in contention for the 5D award, would've thought I'd have more chance in the OD awards.

I'd also like to point out that, anyone who's even been nominated should be proud, as it's a huge acheivement. Good luck to everyone.

Buddhmaster

International Captain
Sent. Can they vote for themselves? Even if they can't, Simon should win very comfortably in the 5 dayers.

Ahem.

"I'd also like to point out that, anyone who's even been nominated should be proud, as it's a huge acheivement."

It's about recognizing outstanding achievements.
