Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
So this is for the greatest ever bowler. It's not specifically tests. It's across any format just like the batting one. But if you value tests above ODI cricket, vote accordingly. I'll stop now before I confuse the voters, common sense should prevail here. Use any and all means of deciding. Stats, technique, longevity, influence..? it's all good.
I would like to thank the people who nominated plus those who helped with ideas for the structure. Spinners and Paceman are in one bracket... sorry if this bothers you. And the bracket is completely random, so round 1 won't be full of blowouts this time. There were quite a few people saying there should be seeds, but there were more saying there shouldn't. Sorry to those on the losing side of the argument... I hope you still turn up to vote.
Some bowlers might get lucky and draw a fairytale run into the final 4 against expectations.... at least this will be less predictable than the batting contest! At the end of the day, the best bowler will still win. And the second best bowler might go out in round 1, but we can gauge his overall strength anyway based on how close he lost to the eventual winner y'know? If Warne goes over someone in round 2 by a bigger margin than he did in round 1, we can assume X > Y. So we will still get a tier list kinda thing, it can still count as an 'exercise' just a less accurate one.
Having to cast 32 votes for the first round is a pain I know..... but it'll get easier each time at least. And there's no real point splitting Round 1 into two days just to save a few seconds when making your vote. So yeah, here's the bracket. Matches to stay open 36-48 hours, i'll give a 5 hour warning before closing so there's no cries of me rigging results.
*Note these "seeds" were randomized. The numbers next to the players names on this link indicate nothing... I dunno why it even put numbers but whatever. I've sorted the tournament into 8 divisions so we get a rough idea of who will be matching up in the quarters. Winner of Division 1 verses winner of Division 2, 3 vs 4, 5 v 6 and 7 v 8.
