Cricket progress after almost 9 months

last year I finally started playing cricket at a local club with some family ties at the ripe age of 18. Since joining the club I’ve become a beloved member of the team and have regularly attended training. With my clubs last winter nets session early tonight I’m glad to say that this is the best decision I’ve ever made. There is a great sense of moral within the club despite double relegations. However a complete rehaul of the structure has taken place. However on person level my progression has been immense. And yes I know it’s only nets. But tonight I take hatrick on the first team captain and several either wickets and since the beginning of the nets have added around 20mph to my balls. On the batting side not as great however I’m very much a power hitter with my shot of choice being the pull. Still lots of work to complete on my defensive work and not getting carried away with constantly attempting to pull the ball to the boundary. Ultimately my goal for the season is to win the most improved trophy at the end of the year. And I’m greatly excited to begin the new season in just a few weeks. Good luck with your cricket this year people.

I’ve also dabbled in cricket myself, and I can totally relate to the excitement of hitting those milestones, like getting a hat-trick or improving pace. The mental game is a big part of it too, especially with balancing attacking and defensive shots. It’s great to see you setting goals for the season, and I'm sure you’ll crush it! Good luck for the new season, and keep up the hard work.
