I would add Gilchrist and Sangakkara too.

Sanga averages just 40 as a wicket keeper batsman.

What benefit does he give me over Kallis who averages 55 with the ball and 32 with the ball?

What benefit does he give me over Hadlee who averages 22 with the ball and 27 with the ball?

It is the same with Gilly. I would rather have Knott as a wicket keeper and ATG batsman/bowler.

If I have to choose between Gilly and Kallis, I would rather have Kallis and semi decent WK bat.

I think Kallis is almost always going to be the better pick for a side which doesn't already have a Test quality top 6 batsmen who can handle fifth bowler duties. His slip catching is a great asset too (though Lara would improve a lot of sides there as well). Only if you've no need of an allrounder then you have the luxury to go for Lara's slightly better batting.
