Well once again it's happened, we dominate the whole game and then get pipped. I'm sick of this team throwing away matches that we were in a good position to win. Tassie needing 126 off 20 overs were in huge trouble at 4-53 with ponting, some all-rounders and the bowlers left to come. Tassie fought hard and got over the line thanks to a brilliant 67* from ponting. I thought are bowlers did well considering it was all or nothing from Tassie's point of view. WA player of the match would have to go to Kade Harvey who picked up the wickets of Hills and DiVenuto. He was supported well by Angel and the economical bowling of newcomer Wates. Martyn and Goodwin batted well with support coming from Gilchrist, Hussey and a quickfire 11 from langer helped boost the score. Taking a look at all the scores i believe ours was decent but we have to take 1 step up and be among the top scoring teams with a batting line-up like ours.

heres the report from the South Australia v Queensland game.
South Australia have lost a tight tussle to the Cane Toads, losing by 14 runs here today.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, the Queenslanders, after a good opening partnership of 52, lost 5-34, to leave them floundering.
However, Andrew Symonds (42) and Andy Bichel (24) combined to push the score to 7-157 off the 20 overs. Best bowler was Peter McIntyre with 2-37 off his 4 overs.
The Redbacks never looked able to chase the total, after Andy Bichel bowled brilliantly to take 1-8 off his 3 overs. Despite Lehmanns quickfire 42 (18), they lost by 14.
After the match, Redbacks manager Scott Lowe explained why his team lost.
"I think them scoring more runs than us was the main reason for our loss."

Kent versus Tamil Nadu
Kent elected to bat first and got off to the worse possible start with Fulton going for just 9, 1-27. Things didn't get much better when the inform Key went just 16, 2-46. However Kent's overseas star Lara who was facing the axe after failing in the past 3 innings came to Kent's aid hitting a super 54* (49). Lara was joined in the centre by Hockley who has been the suprise package in the Kent team this year, however the run had to come to an end and it did so here today when Hockley was giving out for just 16, 3-72. The wicket of Hockley inspired the Kent team to push the score on, and Walker did just that hitting a super 32* of just 24 balls. Unfortunatley for Kent as the pair were just getting going the alloted overs were up and Kent closed the innings on a highly respectable score of 134-3. Only two TN bowlers stood out, S.Mahesh 4-2-19-0 and L.Balaji 4-1-17-1.
TN innings was going to be tough, needing 6.75 an over from the start, but with the top order in blistering form this season you felt that TN always stood a good chance. However with just the fourth ball of the innings Saggers took the first of his 4 wicket's clean bowling S.Ramesh for 0, 0-1. however this bought S.Sharath & J.Madanagopal togeter at the middle and what can only be described as all hell braking lose the pair but on 72 in no time. J.Madanagopal was the first to fall for a slightly more controled 41(34) than his partner S.Sharath who was next to go for a quite imcreable 74(54). The wickets then began to tumble as Kent felt victory coming our way, the next four batsman could only muster 12 runs between them with Saggers taking 3 wickets and Fleming 1.
This then bought the tenses of final overs witnessed by myself in a long time, with two new batsman at the middle TN needed just 3 to level the score (they would have lost on more wickets falling) and four to win from the final ball of the match the number 9 batsman A.Kapoor was going to face his first and only ball the final ball was delivered Kapoor charged down the wicket and the ball came right of the middle and flew high in the air, Trott in the deep ran 20 meters to the ball only to see it fly 10 meters over his head for a hugh 6!.

Once again the TN team pipped Kent to the post.
M.Saggers was the star of the game with the ball for Kent, finishing with figures of 3 Overs - 2 Maidens - 8 Runs - 4 Wicket (if only the computer had given him his last over
!), credit also to the spinner M.Patel finnishing with figures of 4-0-19-0.
However with rightly so the Man of the match was S.Sharath of TN for a truly super innings of 74 of 54 balls.

Somerset blew a great chance to win as Peter Martin hit 34 off 24 balls to rescue Lancashire from 85-8 to 123-9, Somerset then fell just short in their chase - 119 all out. Lancashire spinner Maiden was MotM.
I think that's a perfectly good reason as wellTN VS KENT

Chasing a modest score at just over a ball a run, TN were off to a decent start with a quick-fire knock of 74 runs from Sharath which led TN to successive win over KENT though both their matches to-date were fought till the last over bowled.
While the Manager of TN could'nt be more happier with TN's batting, he feels his bowling dept. is yet to show its true form.
This will eventually be discussed with the team management when they meet tommorrow to discuss the team for their RND 4 match.

well nsw manager bugssy malone knew this game was not an easy game to be had, with it only being a 20 over slog match. getting off to a magic start with both oppeners scoring at more than a run a ball m waugh 37(26) and b haddin 21 (17). most of the batsmen getting starts at more than a run a ball adn was finished in good fashin with s lee 24* (21) and new comer m clarke 10 (6). setting up a defendable total of 5 - 137
glamorgan getting of to a really bad start when mcgrath struck 1st ball, and then a run out seen them struggle to 2 - 0 . macgill the pick of the bolwers again with 4 / 10 of 4 overs. all bowlers going well and the fielding was outstanding snarring 2 run outs. a very good start to the cup campaign esp when favourites mumbai got done.
so i am a very happy manager going into the 1/4 finals but it only gets harder.

Then P.Martin came to the rescue, smashing an unbeaten 34 off just 24 deliveries, to see his side through to 124/9.
All of the Somerset bowlers had success with K.Dutch producing the best figures with 3/28. A.Caddick with 1/14 was very economical.
Somerset wickets fell regularly in reply with I.Blackwell providing the only innings of note with 32 from 24 balls.
Somerset's chase ended a cruel 5 runs short with a further 2 overs in hand.
G.Maiden with 3/22, G.Yates with 2/16 and P.Martin with 2/17 all impressed with the ball for Lancs.
G.Maiden was surprisingly named man of the match ahead of P.Martin.
And so Lancs emerged with a rather fortunate win.

Mumbai v Hampshire
Hampshire posted possibly the surprise of the first round of the cup, when they beat Mumbai. The Indian side batted first and made 131-8 largely thanks to Wasim Jaffer's 43-ball 48, and Paranjpe's 29 off 18 balls which helped add momentum towards the end.
Hampshire's main bowler Alan Mullally got smashed for 46 runs from his four overs, and Neil Johnson conceded 37, but the medium pace trio of Tremlett, Mascarenhas and Morris made up for that, collecting 7-48 from 12 between them, including three maiden overs, a rarity in the 20 over game.
Johnson made up for his bowling performance when Hampshire started their reply, adding 75 for the first wicket with Jason Laney in just 10 overs. Johnson was dismissed for 48 (35 balls), after Laney had departed for 22 off 28. Then Hampshire wobbled - Robin Smith and John Francis lasted just two balls each, and Hampshire had lost 4 for 0. But star batsman John Crawley steadied the ship along with South African wicketkeeper Nic Pothas, and Derek Kenway hit a 6 to secure the win for Hampshire - their first of the season - with 2 overs to spare. Chris Tremlett won the man of the match award for his exceptional bowling figures (4-1-20-3)

Not surprisingly Glamorgan fell to the superstars of regional cricket the Tooheys New South Wales ****roaches. Glamorgan's coach though was not happy with the effort with only Parkin keeping the runs down with 0/19 off 4. Wasim Akram and Cosker took 2 wickets each but were a little expensive. NSW scored 5/137 off their 20 overs and it an even scorecard for them with no one in particular starring.
The Glamorgan batting was ordinary in the extreme with 7 ducks registered as the side was bowled out for just 60. Maynard made a well earned 31 and Newell was unbeaten on 17. Newell had to watch the carnage at the other end as the last 5 batsmen couldn't trouble the scorers. MacGill was the star with the ball taking 4/10 including 4 wickets in 4 balls. A great effort.
On the whole only Parkin and Maynard could hold their heads up after an awful loss. The was only solution to this mess and that was for us all to go to the pub and get blind.

What an amazing win to the Tasmanian Pandas.
While struggling all day with WA on top for most of the day, Ponting and Wright stealing the game for the Pandas.
After having a tough day in the field with WA scoring a tough 5-125 of their 20 overs. Tassie were in a lot of trouble with Cox, Hills and Di Venuto all failing (0, 2 & 0), with WA in control having Tassie 3-9.
But once again Ponting and the Pandas middle order came to the fore. Ponting 67*, Marsh 18 and Young 20 all scored well, and brought Tassie to within 2 runs of victory. But it was Wright who along with a good 3-39(4) won the game for Tasmania with a boundrary off his first delivery.
So Tasmania win their first game of the season, but only through the help of two super-human performances. Could they come off the bottom of the Second Division with there newly found winning ability.

Then A reasonable bowling performance with the ball seen South Australia come with in 14 runs of beating the bulls but they wernt good enough but i think there might be some cahnges for the next game...... :undecided:
