Hampshire vs NSW
Hampshire won the toss and elected to bat and the first wicket fell for 19 a really strong batting performance from R.Smith 74 runs in 64 runs got Hampshire to a good total of 106/6 . NSW bowling attack did well to stop conceding more runs their pick of bowlers were G.Mcgrath with figures of 4-1-16-2 and S.Waugh 4-1-14-2 and S.Lee 4-1-10-0 was unlucky not to take a wicket.
NSW lost their first wicket at 35 with m.waugh scoring 26 in 14 balls and a well supportive batting performance from the rest , but none stood out apart from shane lee , it looked like hampshire was going to win half way through , but this man changed the whole course of the game , thats how exciting and intense the competition of W.C.C.C's C.A cup challenge is , he scored 30 runs in 26 balls and led NSW to a good victory
Pick of bowlers for Hampshire were Udal 3-0-8-2 Mullaly 3-1-11-0 and the rest contributing.
Mascarehnas was guilty of not trying at all even though he took 2 wickets his r.p.o was 11.00 per over , a real dissapointment coming to think that a berth in the finals was on stake .
Man of the match was given to R.Smith for his good batting performance , although S.Lee deserved it more for his all round brilliance and match winning batting .
After interview with Hampshires manager:
" Mate im really glad that our team went so far even though we big major underdogs going into this game , and being 2nd last in the divisions , our team has had some really tough games over the season and finally im glad that we lost to a team that thorougly deserved to win it with some great cricket .. even thought it was a disappointing loss it was a satisfying one , after 3 straight losses in the divisions and some slump batting it was good to post a good total , the bowling will be looked over , and we eagerly await for the next C.A cup and the 4 day competitions , it was thorougly enjoyed and congrats to NSW and good luck to them in the finals and a big congrats to fellow english team Yorkshire for their brilliant performance in beating T.N , our team will be at the final to support you mate ! Go Yorkies . "

the ca cup semi final was always going to be a tuff game
hampshire won the toss and batted first and was inrtouble early @ 1 - 19. wickets fell consistantly however r smith was the pik of the bats with an unbeaten 74 (64) and was unlucky that no one else could hold up there end as it would have proven a big total. the pick of the bowlers was s waugh 4 1 14 2 and g mcgrath 4 1 16 2 . s lee unlucky not to pick up a wicket or to.
well hampshires total of 6 - 106. was it going to be enough. in previous games nsw have hit big totals 4 - 146 5 - 137 so hampshire would have it all cut out.
nsw got of to an o.k start loosing there 1st wicket @ 35 but then nsw would loose the next 5 wickets for not many , bevan 0, richards 10, s waugh 10 and where in a little trouble @ 6 - 67 but a great innings by s lee 30*(26) and supported by b lee 8*(5) getting passed the total with 3 wickets and 2 overs remaining. a tuff battle for the blue whom where big favourites to take the comp out.
we interviewed bugs malone after the game and this is what he had to say
very happy with todays win, although we didnt play up to our best but the opposition had something to do with that, they played well and didnt let us play as well as we would have liked. hats of to reuben and his side they came here and played well and we had to fight to go one game away from the cup so i am happy in some respects but dissapointed in others so its all good.
focus now is on the ca cup final and finishing the year strongly in the div. i have a lot on my mind with the draft etc so its all happening

Yorkshire V Tamil Nadu
Most people would have called it an upset.
The game was probably the shortest in history.
As was said in early reports it came down to one innings and Yorkshire made it there own.
Bowling them out for 57 with Hamilton 5-11 off 2 overs. great bowling
But the game wasnt over Tamil Nadu took 4 wickets before the winning runs were hit.
In the follow up to the big final there doesnt seem to be any rivalry between Yorkshire and NSW but it may have started with Jason the Manager heard quoting
" No, they have a great team and we have no rivalry but that team is full of stupid heads"
he was heard saying that he considered calling them an idiot brain or turd burger but that was it. Yorkshire are expecting a backslash from the NSW manager soon.

yer look, they can say what they want, u know we dont bag our opposition, we just just play good cricket. if thats how low yorkshire want to stoop then so be it but my boys will just play solid cricket which sees us playing in the ca cup final and running 2nd in the div 1 table.
the funny thing about it, i think we play yorkshire this week in div 1 so ill leave it up to them, if they want to get my blokes angry we play better angry so go for it.

"I only called him a stupid head because I thought it would fire up both sides and make it a mean clash a bit like the Bombers and Lions clash on the weekend(IT WAS HUGE). NSW are a great team and should be where they are in both league and cup."
Afterwards however he was hear saying that this was a blow up by the Media and what was said behind closed doors should have stayed there. 8D 8D

There was no suprise i knew i could do it.
When i took ova the side we were last with 1 win. After a bit of soul searching i realised the best team was a consistent team so i only make the necessary changes.
