Well, I'm pretty confident strong questions will be asked after England (along with the selectors and the people conducting fitness tests, and the dietricians and physios etc... er, back to the point). Should he stay or should he go, and who are the contendors to take his place?

I've had enough of "Keeping it Kiwi" personally - if there's a better coach overseas, bloody hell, take them. Why settle for a second grade NZ coach when you can have a top overseas coach who will get more out of your players?

Or get John Wright? isnt his contract with india up soon?

Although I doubt they'll get rid of Bracewell for a while yet, he's a highly thought of coach.

Yes he was good in the OD's for Glouc's..and there's no doubt he's helped improve NZ's ODI performances..but he was also known for poor performances in 4 dayers with Glouc's & the same thing is now happening with New Zealand.

He hasn't been in charge for long, but there is a rot developing & NZ sure as hell don't want a repeat of the 1995 West Indies tour fiasco.

I would give him a year to see how he goes.

If he brings in the Natwest Series and the ICC Champions Trophey, I bet you would not be saying he is second rate.

agreed - although I'd not want to see ODI tropheys at the expense of Test series performances..............

as I've said b4 IMO the NZL lineup & style is better suited to the short game so it would be reasonable to expect better improvement / results in that area - the bigger effort comes in taking that to the Test arena..........

"Good luck to them. While we're not allowed to do it in New Zealand, they're obviously allowed to do it over here. Our policy is to produce the best cricket wickets possible, not ones that suit the home team."
John Bracewell, New Zealand's coach, suggests that the recent Test wickets were tailored to suit England

Pssshhhhh.

He would, wouldn't he?

Yes, and those wickets for the India series...

If they're the best possible, then maybe NZ should be eased out of International Cricket because the climate isn't good enough to prepare good wickets?

Er, how?

Aren't the two teams almost identical in playing style?

What did he want? Featherbeds especially for McMillan?

Come on, Braces. Even on a strip of the outfield, I think accurate bowlers at 140+ generally beat tomcats spraying it everywhere at 125!

Green-tops may have actually let England see the back of Richardson and Fleming a lot earlier, meaning NZ could have been polished off in 3 days rather than 4 or 5.

so far as I'm aware the pre & early season preparation for NZL domestic pitches has been disrupted by unusually late wet seasons for the past couple of years - starting with the IND tour.............

presumably this has something to do with the reversal of the weather patterns in the southern hemisphere - El Ninyo V La Ninya (or whatever they are)..........

this year saw extensive flooding in the lower Nth Island - I'm sure some of the residants will be able to say how bad it's been etc...............
