Jayawardene. Both were conditions dependent but Jayawardene was at least tolerable in unfavourable conditions (low-mid 30s average) whilst Abbas was a literal tailender against top class pace (under 20 average against West Indies and New Zealand with Hadlee).

Hadlee got him twice. He was rank against NZ but Australia were a better example of quality pace and he was surprisingly competent against them.
