Battle of the Test Innings

Xuhaib

International Coach
Sachin, I saw this knock the partnership between Azhar and Sachin is one of my favourite cricketing moment.

GIMH

Norwood's on Fire
Dravid

regarding Bradman's knock, I notice that England followed on in that match. Was 150 the requirement back then?

gilchrist.

but marginally. he was new to test cricket and it was the third biggest successful chase then. big achievement.

dravid played second fiddle to laxman. but aussies were on a roll.

too close to call. i'll stick to gilly.

Rahul Dravid.

Wasn't one of Gilchrist and Langer supposed to be out in that partnership ? The innings might never have been actually....

ha, wont be surprised if all Indians voted for Dravid's innings & aussie fans voted for Gilchrist. I saw both of these innings & i'll go for Gilchrist by a little whisker for two reason.

- because it was a brillaint attack innings under pressure againts a top-class attack even though he along with Langer had the benefit of some poor umpiring decisions.

- secondly, even though Dravid innings will go down as one of the greatest of all-time it was frsutrating viewing at the time being up all morning & missing school half day to see those two bat all day.

Dravid's inning was part of a remarkable partnership, but it wasn't one of his greatest efforts in my opinion. Gilchrist's 149 on the other hand is memorable in and of itself.

Incidentally, it was Langer who had an appeal for caught behind against him, not Gilchrist.

Anyway, Gilchrist for me.

2 great knocks, but I'm going for Gilchrist as I don't think there was any real pressure on Dravid (since India were almost certain to lose)

Has to be Dravid: one of the greatest Tests in history (IMO only second to Headingley '81, but I'm not getting into that debate), and it wouldn't have happened but for that knock.
