How can someone not like Viv? He is probably the biggest entertainer in cricket history. When everyone else was scoring slowly a strike rate of 60; here comes the best batsman in the world walking with swag and scoring at 100 SR wand treating bowlers with disdain.

If you mix Sachin’s technique, Afridi’s destructive ability, Lara’s flamboyance and add a little bit of swag, you get Viv Richards - coolest cricketer ever.

Off the field, Viv was often a bit soft spoken sort and languid whereas Imran simply oozed charisma wherever he went.

However, on the field, Viv had the most game presence of any cricketer in history. The broad shoulder frame, no helmet, chewing gum and his languidness coming to the crease only added to his menace. We have enough testimonials of bowlers who were scared of him to attest to this.

It’s Viv. Only Grace, Bradman and Sobers imho had more Aura about them. Viv probably has the highest Aura of anyone since Sobers.

I’d say Grace wins. Maybe Bradman competes with him but yeah.

My personal favourite story is still Grace putting the bails back on the stumps (whether it actually happened or not, I like to believe it did)
