At what stage Do the Mods Realize That a Thread needs to Be Stickied/Pinned?

Not my first rodeo with regards to this, I wonder are grounds for tour threads to be pinned.

Test nations should get first priority, no?

Are mods responsible for this?

Do we need mods from every test nation?

Anyways, Sri Lanka play West Indies in 8 days time.
The England-Pakistan series, which starts after this series is already pinned.

Do we have any sort of consistency with regards to this?

@James, new mods?

That must be a mistake surely. I’m sure they’ll unpin the England-Pakistan series soon.

Whatever it takes!!!
I think the compromise would be to let posters who have more than X number of posts, the ability to sticky the threads, at least the ones they create? I think modding is a thankless job and people are volunteering, so its always possible they just get busy or its at a time when they just want to be posting and not modding etc.

@James - would that be possible? The mods can always review and unpin threads they feel were wrongly pinned or the time has passed?

Thanks for raising @SillyCowCorner1 and I agree, there needs to be more care given towards managing the sticked threads in Cricket Chat (CC) to ensure current/upcoming series are covered and named appropriately.

That's a good idea @honestbharani and could be a permission given to certain CC regular members with over X posts. I'll raise with the mod team and see what the group call is :)

An easy option at the moment is to report a post within a thread if you believe it should be stuck/un-stuck.

The Eng-Pak series starts in a day or so, the thread was created Sep 10th and I stickied it when I saw it. SL vs WI thread was created 2 days ago.

Are you asking mods for to create threads and sticky them or just sticky threads in a timely manner? If only the latter, then I'll say that I brought needing a CC active mod and that's how we got to making RIS a mod. If this is the only miss since then and even only by a day, I'd say we should give it a bit more time before making any more changes. Not really many data points since the last change.

Thank you both for your responses. I believe James's suggestion is the most suitable. In the past, there have been instances where a tour thread was initiated, only to discover later that multiple threads existed for the same tour. I wanted to address this to ensure consistency and proper organization.

Reminds me when there were multiple Olympic threads and it was hard to know where to go to get score updates on the football prelims.
