Ashwin, bowlers > batters since they actually do more for winning matches with their wicket-taking.

Yet another disappointing poll result for subz. The worst part is he cannot bring out the national bias card this time on those who voted Ashwin.

I don't think it's as bad as people want to believe to not pick Ash, but that's irrelevant here. Ashwin is a far superior match winner overall so he gets the nod. Anything else is copium for batting fans who refuse to accept that bowlers matter more when it comes to winning Tests since you need to take 20 wickets to actually win.

Not outside India.

Until Kohli had his dip, he looked to becoming an outright uncontroversial ATG unlike Ashwin who I have never seen referred to in such terms by international punditry. If Kohli has rediscovered form then he will inevitably go down as a better player.

Kohli isn't one either because to win Tests you need goos bowling. So unless he's actually Bradman you can't justify this comp in Tests.

But by that logic, nobody would remember the Great Khali either, and they definitely do, so I don't buy it.
