Arguably, Mark Ramprakash had 5/5 successful ashes series

He only featured in one test each in his first 3 series. In '93 he got 6 and 64, you'd take that for your ashes debut.

In '94/95, 72 and 42. Respectable.

In '97, 4 and 48. Very low scoring match, the 48 was the second highest score of the game behind Thorpe's 62.

In '98/99, he hit 4 fifites and an unbeaten 47. Very consistent and averaged close to 50

And in '01, he averaged 40 from 8 digs. Largely helped by his 133, which was his top Ashes score and a very solid knock against McWarne

A very random player to have such a good ashes record considering the career test batting average of 27

It's weird for some players that they overperform against strong opposition. The thing that always amuses me with Ramps is that he started his Test career with a pair of 27s against the WI. He could've retired then, and not played the next 51 Tests, and still got the same average.
