The better cricketer?
I actually think the opposite. Flintoff clearly ahead in ODIs but closer in Tests.Tests : Flintoff easily
ODIs : It depends on what you want in the team
Exactly this.Flintoff is underrated in ODIs and (was) overrated in tests.
Sanath is underrated in tests and overrated in ODIs, just not as significantly as Flintoff in either.
If this were true, there would be no reason to vote for Jayasuriya.Better test all rounder - Flintoff by a mile
Better ODI all rounder - Sanath by a whisker
Sanath's captaincy skills and ATG fielding puts him slightly ahead.
OP asks for the better cricketer. So fielding and captaincy also comes in.If this were true, there would be no reason to vote for Jayasuriya.
Fielding and captaincy isn't enough to overcome that "miles" gap that you mentioned.OP asks for the better cricketer. So fielding and captaincy also comes in.
Yes, but Jayasuriya was a very poor test opener - couldn't play the moving ball and a million times worse than the likes of Karunaratne.I really don't get how Flintoff is way ahead in tests. He has one of the most meh outputs of all the All Rounders.
