I think, for an average team, a world class spinner can be more useful as he can take most of the workload. Plus, his lower order batting can be beneficial to an average team.
And, do think my average team would be better off with an ATVG batter and ATG wicket-keeper than an ATG batter.

Unless the average team has a competent keeper, then Lara has to be selected. Gilly at no.7 ain't bailing out an average side all the time.

The thing is, I don't know what my average team looks like yet. So, I believe, there is no correct answer. And Gilly doesn't have to play no.7 in an averge team.

There is a correct answer. All teams have a keeper who can catch the ball. Gilchrist batting at no 7 is hugely different to them than Lara coming at 4.

I won't bet my life on Prime Bradman to that, without anything to gain. Now, if there's, say 1 crore rupees on the table, I would bet my life on my colony's resident drunkard uncle to do that. Either way I won't have to work in IT.
