Bumrah has the better average, had much less support than Ambrose, but bowled on more bowling friendly surfaces, broke down by the last game and probably bowled to a slightly weaker Aussie lineup.
Very tough to call, Bumrah produced a slightly higher level of consistent bowling imo but going for Ambrose for his series shaping contributions.

Ambrose, less helpful surfaces, a less reinforced seam for the ball back then and imo a stronger batting lineup when form is taken into account.

Ambrose obviously because he won them the series and didn't break down. Plus his 7-25 is one of the greatest spell ever.

Not sure any surface was as helpful as what he got at Perth that series to be honest.

Whatever it takes!!!
Yeah he missed the best bowling wicket of the series ffs.
I had a bet on my cricket group before the series started that Bumrah would break the record for a pacer with the most wickets in an away test series (5 match), the guy was 3 wkts away from it.
Would have been the greatest prediction ever.
Blame Nohit.

You don’t count Tate or Barnes as pacers then?
