Pretty much a copy of my thread in the World Cup forum, only this time you've got to predict the score as well. Public poll, so we'll be able to ridicule all those who got it wrong after the series is over. I am aware that there are other results possible, but I really didn't want to have to write them all down, so pick the closest one or select 'other' and specify.

Oh crap. I somehow made two threads. Mods, can you merge this one with the one with the poll?
How embarrassing

Aus favourites of course, and I have a feeling they'll sneak it, but with my optimistic head on I'll go 2-2, too. Hopefully both sides will have a full squad to choose from so nobody can whinge about injuries.

Australia 3-1

Same as I predicted in 2005.

I think the Ashes will change hands a few times over the next decade. With the teams being fairly evenly matched, I think whoever plays at home will probably win them in the next few series or so.

I have a feeling it'll be another close series, but Aussies'll take it. Perhaps 2-1.

I'm gonna say 3 - 2 to Australia. I think Australia will win the 1st, 4th and 5th tests and England will win the second and third.

Australia will win the first 4 and England will win the token dead rubber...

Should have included all the possible results. I picked other - I think Australia will win 3-1.

I think England will win the second or third test and square the series, but Australia will run away with it at the end.

The funny thing about Australia's preparations is assuming that they do win, that come 2009 they could lose it again, since England will have home advantage & definately look like they will have the stronger team then.

This could be an exciting 5-10 years of ashes cricket coming up

Totally impossible to guess.
5-0 either way is not OOTQ.
What I doubt (as I did in 2005, and was thwarted by relatively large amounts of rain and\or bad light) is that there'll be any draws.
In Australia, meanwhile, I don't think any will even go close.
You can never rule-out thunderstorms at The 'Gabba or The SCG.
You can never rule-out damp at The MCG (entire Boxing Day was washed-out 2 series ago).
You can never rule-out Adelaide attracting dangerous weather, as last time.
But if there's no result at The WACA I'll eat my computer - big call, I know, given that the last one was drawn, but apart from the 2 most recent quadrennial turners (SA '05\06 and NZ '01\02) there hasn't been a draw since 1992\93 - and indeed the only team before the most recent game to draw there was NZ, who also did in 1989\90. England haven't drawn since 1986\87 - the last time we won a series in Australia.
Indeed, we've never won a meaningful game there (won in 1978\79 against the 2nd-string) in 9 attempts.
