Michael Kavanagh wins the D.B Robin Memorial Medal for 2002-03
At ACT Cricket's night of nights last Friday Eastlake's Michael Kavanagh claimed the top individual award by 4 votes to cap off a terrific season with the bat. Weston Creek Captain Cade Brown finished second on 17 votes, with Tuggeranong Valley's David Jeffrey close behind on 16 votes. Cade Brown did manage to win the trophies for best batting average and aggregate, as well as the Konica One Day Challenge Player of the Series, Player of the Final and the inaugural Greg Irvine Medal for Player of the Random Computing Two Day Final.
Other major awards went to Stephen Frost, Queanbeyan skipper, who received the best bowling average while Matt Ramage from Eastlake took the most wickets for the season. Ginninderra West Belconnen's David Dawson received the Wicket Keeping award for most dismissals and the inaugural Peter Solway Medal for ACT Comet's Player of the Year which is voted on by the players after each ACB Cup match.
