I have 10 squads for the 12 potential managers to choose from. They are listed below.

Botham XI - Swanny
Bradman XI - cometer
Flower XI - funky miller
Gavaskar XI
Hadlee XI
Imran Khan XI - gibbsnsmith
Pollock XI - jamey999
Ranatunga XI
Sobers XI - Timbo

pick one and post it on this thread. You must be one of the 12 guys that I emailed this morning. Once the 10 teams are taken then I will release the player lists and the draft list of players.

All of the above are former great players. Khaled is still playing. There have been no good former Bangladesh players as yet.

Have you forgotten his WC exploits? He's a hero. Of course he was and is great. Also, Flower already has an XI (reading is a skill) so why not give one to Olonga? It's certainly better than favouring Australia.

Yeah, um, I seem to recall getting interested in this aaaages ago and then forgetting about it, even though I'm still interested, can someone please give me a refresher as to what it's all about?

The Academy comp is mainly for managers in the main comp to see how their rookies are going. Teams are made up of rookies and players not wanted at the end of last season. Each manager will start with 12 players and then select another 4 in a draft to make a final squad of 16. Once that is settled then every week a manager will select a side for that week's game alternating between four and one day games. There will be 9 4 day and 9 1 day games for the season. The rookies will have to play at least 5 games of each format.

This season is the first time that managers have been involved with the academy sides and gives new guys a chance to see what it's like before being asked to join the big time.
