ACADEMY SET TO LAND IN THE CARIBBEAN
Season three of World Club Cricket will also see the third installment of an academy series. In previous seasons we have seen the competition take place in the USA and in Africa, this year we will be focussing our attention on the Caribbean and its surrounds. This area is hugely important to WCC with the possiblity of future expansion into this area with a team in the main competition it will be important the people here get involved.
The academy has been an invaluable part of WCC's success in recent times, nearly all clubs boast stars who have been part of this competition with last years best players including NSW's all rounder B Casson and NZI wicketkeeper batsman J Neill.
This year will see a slightly shorter competition with four matches deducted from the schedule, there will be 12 matches in each form with 10 teams taking part. With the tournament taking place over 6 weeks it will be a great test for WCC's youngsters.
Managers now get to nominate a player from their current squad to play in this yeara series, keeping in mind these players will be unavailable for play for your WCC team while they are there. The only restrictions are that the players must be either 24 years or younger, or have played less than 30 games in at least one form. Also note what sort of role you would like your player to play, e.g opening batsman, bowl 1st change etc...
Remember no one is forced to send a player, it is totally optional.
