Given Botham to be no. 1, who's England's 2nd Best English Pacer/Medium pacer all-rounder (Not counting the Grand Old Man, he's a headache to rate).

Frank Foster should be in your list imo and possibly Gubby Allen too. If you consider Hammond and Dexter as batting allrounders, they'd definitely need to be in.

I'd never heard of Stan Nichols prior to this, so thanks.

Anyway, I'd say Stokes.

So were Steel and Hearne. D'Oliveira bowled gentle outswingers so can be included even if he may have been slower than some spinners.

Nichols was usually known as Morris Nichols.
