I think it's almost the opposite. Rahul called no at the exact moment the fielder had to take his eyes off Rahul to pick the ball up. the fielder has thrown immediately after picking up the ball precisely because he knew he was a good shot at running Rohit out if he got the throw in quickly. Good stuff from Rahul to realise Rohit had to be called back and just unlucky for the fielder imo. It was his good work that led to a chance even being there
