They still have time to pick a few batters in round 13-16 and put them in the starting XI.

But sometimes things work out differently to what you expect. I have had both Somerville and Ajaz had shortened seasons due to injury, and slog a few runs in the games they played, so get zero points for the season.

Lock in your first XI the night before the Shield starts. Benches can have empty slots waiting for new names to emerge as the season goes on.

I think if someone has already gained some blunter points, that player does have to remain a blunter. You could bench him though. A reserve blunter (B3) is allowed on the bench.

Yes he can be benched. I think your team will still likely run afoul of the rules though as long as Joey Field is batting at No. 6. One of Muller, Fisher etc. probably need to hit the bench.

Oh your problem is with these Hampton, Solia, Macewell and Santner players who may dud out with the bat and fail to keep your team inside the rules. Pick lots of specialist batting in the remaining draft rounds.
