Wickets tumbled and runs flowed in a match played at break-neck pace, before the Webheads emerged comfortable winners by 206 runs. An outstanding second innings revival put the home side in control of a game that saw them bowled out for 182 after batting first on day one.
Hamish Bennett and Roneel Hira shared 8 wickets to dismantle young Cricket Web from a start of 104/1, and the first day work of Thamba Mamesh and Rob Dauth was wasted by the middle and lower order.
Greg Thomas struck back with a 5-wicket haul, and at 159/7, the game was well and truly on. Fitzgerald partnered with Tim Southee however, and the two put on 56 before New Zealand U-19 reached the heights of 232 all out.
For the second consecutive match, the young Webheads had surrendered a lead on first innings, and they matched their first Test strategy to ensure that it didn't much matter. Aggression was the name of the counterattack, and Mamesh once more led from the front with a century.
He raised his hundred off 83 balls, and when he was dismissed, he had scored 131 of 194 total runs. With overcast conditions then prevailing, Daniel Smith and Rob Dauth batted with more caution as was afforded to them by Mamesh.
By the time both were dismissed within a run of each other, the lead was 228 runs strong. Jasotharan, Scott and Blackman added half-centuries, and Jack McNamara declared only when the thrashing had reached 493/7.
Mike Wilson was the only batsman who failed in the innings, as he was trapped in front again, exposing a worrying lack of footwork for the third time in four innings.
The best part of two days remained in the match and Cricket Web U-19 had all the time in the world to work away at their opponents. New Zealand would not take defeat kneeling down, however, and instead Todd Astle collected a fiery half-century to round out an impressive tour.
There was little else down the line though, and the Kiwi batsmen got starts and then got out before expanding upon them. Dean Bartlett knocked some pride back into the ranks, but the manner in which the tail fell away stole from his achievement.
