    Choose one attack

I'll go for Warne and Co, but there really isn't much separating these attacks. I'd like to see a left arm pacer with Murali, just so he's got some guaranteed footmarks to work with. Slight advantage goes to Warne and co

Warne & McGrath vs Muralitharan & Hadlee

This is also my reason for picking Murali and Hadlee. You could at a push get up to 70 overs from them a day. I'd say Warne and McGrath would give you 60. We saw in the 2005 ashes what happens when McWarne didn'thave much in the way of bowling support, but McWarne with good bowling support...

*Official* India tour of England 2025 General Discussion

Has Hardik completely given up on Test cricket? (guessing his body still can't handle more than the short format) He'd probably be more useful than Thakur.

What have we learned from the 1st test?

Typically when Woakes has done really well in the summer, it's after he's had several games for his county (so lots of bowling under his belt). You think England would know that by now. He's gonna look like a plodder until maybe the 3rd or 4th test assuming he's still in the side.

    More team trades

Would 80s England take Donald or Kallis? Tough one, but Donald. Donald, Beef, Willis and Dilley would be a heck of bowling attack, but Kallis and Beef in the same team would allow for a seriously deep batting line up. Would 90s SA take Sobers or Warne? Warne. SA had Kallis, McMillan and...

Ranking the Auxiliary skills in test cricket

Englands lower order added really valuable runs. Match situation would have felt completely different without those runs.

    1st Test (Leeds) - 20th June

So England are 2 nil up for the series I guess if Bumrah misses the next test. Kuldeep really needs to play

"Cricketers who would make great movie characters (and who would play them)?"

Yep. Anyone playing the Universe Boss needs to be able to overact and be comfortable making jokes about his "big bat". No one is doing that better than Downey Jr

    1st Test (Leeds) - 20th June

It's a shame Shami is missing/isn't fully fit/at his best. India never really got a sustained run from Bumrah and Shami operating together. Though could potentially have been up there with Ambrose/Walsh, McGrath/Gillespie, Wasim/Waqar etc

    1st Test (Leeds) - 20th June

He's super tall and a left armer so naturally offers variety. Tall bowlers are also favoured for Australia so they probably had that in mind too.

    Saeed Anwar Vs Andy Flower

Probably about even as bats. If I was forced to pick one then I'd go with Anwar just cos of aesthetics. Flower did what he did whilst keeping which puts him ahead as a Test player though.

    Gillespie. Johnson. Starc.

Starc hasn't really had the peaks like Gillespie and Johnson where they were world class. That puts him below the other 2 for me. Gillespie 1st.

*Official* WTC FINAL Australia vs South Africa 2025

Don't disagree with that. He was underwhelming in this test, but that doesn't mean he isn't a quality bowler. Can't expect every bowler to perform in every test andhaving a good 5th bowler gives you a bit insurance if one of the main bowlers has a bad test.

*Official* WTC FINAL Australia vs South Africa 2025

Yeah, but dropped by Smith who is pretty much an elite slip, so that kinda negates the elite slip argument part. Also even with both teams not batting for long and conditions favouring bowling, there were several moments when the game situation where it felt like both teams were desperate for a...

Bring on Travis Head to do a Markram.

*Official* WTC FINAL Australia vs South Africa 2025

Yeah, but Starc was dropped early in the slips haha. They might have been all out for under 150 if that catch was taken.
