    *Official Third Test at Edgbaston

Come on groundsmen, earn your money! :P I'm off to bed now, hopefully when I arrive at Edgbaston tomorrow the sun will be shining and the outfield will be water free!

Poor. They didn't use the £600k grant from the ECB to improve the drainage system during the Winter as it would have affected other development plans at the ground.

Agreed, he seemed very pessimistic about the state of the wicket earlier this week, but Ponting said yesterday that he was surprised at how dry it was.

    *Official Third Test at Edgbaston

They're talking about the whole of tomorrow being 'washed out' because of the state of the outfield. There's no more rain forecast for tonight, as far as I know, and they'll be working on it over night, so you'd hope it shouldn't be too bad tomorrow.

I've got tickets for tomorrow, but it doesn't look and sound too promising. Rouse, the head groundsman, said no chance of play before lunch and 20% chance of play after that, apparently. I'd much prefer to see no cricket and get my £75 back than a rain interrupted 20 overs.

He said he was expecting to make his First Grade debut this season, and then I assume after that he'll be hoping for a state contract...

    A quick question

That's great mate, thanks :) All understood now. He plays for Western Suburbs, do you know whether they're any good?

    A quick question

Ok, thanks a lot :) And I assume it's the same in Queensland, with 5 grades and then State 2nd XI and 1st XI?

    A quick question

Thanks for the reply. I thought that was what it was, so basically the next step up from playing First Grade cricket for his club is to get into the State 2nd XI? I know he was selected for the Queensland U19 side last December, but had to pull out due to injury.

    A quick question

Hi guys, My dads team have just had a young Aussie over to play for them in the season that has just finished. He was talking about how he was hoping to make his first grade debut when he gets back to Australia in a couple of days time, and I was wondering what level that is, in regards to how...
