**Official** Australia in Sri Lanka Jan - Feb 2025

These two, and in particular Carey, have batted very well. But jeez, it's not really been that hard for them. Of the 3 wickets that have fallen, 2 were to poor shots and the other is horribly out of form. It doesn't say a lot on a pitch that was supposedly offering some assistance.

**Official** Australia in Sri Lanka Jan - Feb 2025

The more I watch the more the problem seems to be the bowling. Way too many freebies being offered up either to rotate strike or find the boundary. Smith and Carey are playing well, but they're not really being tested as much as they should be.

    **Official** 3rd Test @Brisbane (Ewwwww), 14th-18th December

Yeah, surely Carey is still there. Could see Marnus re-finding some form.......but Smith will be arse for Carse if he's still smelling the place out.

    **Official** 3rd Test @Brisbane (Ewwwww), 14th-18th December

Maybe Smith should try opening again, I think his average was better there!! It does make me wonder what on earth the batting line up looks like in 12 months time for the Ashes.....

    **Official** England in New Zealand 28 Nov-18 Dec 2024 - 3 Tests

Aus chased down 280-7 earlier this year, but it took Carey's best ever knock to do it having been 80-5! Highest score in that match was the 3rd innings.

    **Official** 1st Test @ Perth, 22nd-26th November

...the alternatives are crap Marnus - In a complete hole Smith - Cooked Head - May have back trouble soon from carrying this lot Marsh - He averages less than Pope Carey - Averages less than Pope and yet looks to be one of 2 guarantees in this line up Not sure what the alternatives are going...

Road to India in Australia 2024-25

I guess you could add Starc's 6fer to the bright spots too. But there's not a lot else. I presume Cummins and Hazlewood will play a game before the First Test?

*Official* Australia limited overs tour of Scotland and England 2024

Against something along the lines of: Salt Duckett Cox Brook Livingstone Smith/Bethell Carse Atkinson Rashid Archer Topley Feels like Carse is a place too high but I'm struggling to make it work any other way.

At what stage will South Africa choke?

...39 from 40 with 9 wickets remaining. I seem to remember it was Rashid who started the confusion but still not sure how they ended 3 short.....Carey and Agar would seem to be the answers...

Much better than the Test: Ashes 2023 - Our Take

Pretty much all mentioning how Carey's form dropped off a cliff after the incident (which it did till your lot bowled him back into form). Never said it wasn't out once.

Anderson to end Test career this summer

I think he's largely been forgotten about already, we've moved on. Broad's probably not too far wrong with his assertion at the time that it's all he'll be remembered for (in this country anyway).

*Official* Australia tour of New Zealand Feb-Mar 2024

I guess he might finally now be remembered for something other than the Lord's run out. Only took 8 months to get Broad's line out of his head. I do seriously think that affected him. He seems a good bloke (was well liked at Sussex unlike that **** Head) with a lot of links to the English game...

    **Official** English Football Season 2023/24

He didn't get worn down by 15 years of Test Cricket - if anything, he was getting more entertaining by the end of it. He's starting to look spot on about his line for Carey.

***Official*** England Tour of the West Indies: December 2023

Oh I don't know, seemed to galvanise them quite well in that particular series, Aus still can't win in England. They also beat NZ too. Just the usual issues on the road (and always in the Windies).

    ***Official***Match #38- Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka - November 6th - Delhi (D/N)

I think it's had to be re-named, this is whole new level. Trying to imagine the MCC Members if the Aussies had pulled this trick....

*Official* Match #10 — Australia Vs South Africa Oct 12th, Lucknow

Wade is about to turn 36, why are all the alternatives in their mid 30's? Surely you need to give younger guys a run now.
  17. Molehill

*Official* Match #10 — Australia Vs South Africa Oct 12th, Lucknow

I think there are deeper issues. In that team yesterday, only Inglis (who replaced the over 30 Carey) and Marnus (29) were under 30 (and many are mid 30's). The names being mentioned as potential replacements are either injury prone (Richardson) or even older (Khawaja). You can say that they're...

Says a lot that he's getting selected. That strong Aussie mindset didn't seem to be in Carey's head, couldn't even get over that run out.
