***Official New Zealand Domestic Season Thread 2009/10

That chase was just spastic. How often do you see such a score, even in the first innings on a road? 4th innings, chasing, etc, that's just amazing.

Is Daniel Vettori the best 'all-rounder' at the moment?

He is miles ahead of Symonds, Pathan etc. Bloody brilliant player, carries the New Zealand team. They will miss him so much when he retires.

Can a bowler who averages 30+ be considered as greats ?

Kapil and Botham also scored plenty of runs with the bat, and Kumble didn't do a bad job with the willow either.

    Favourite shot?

Drives. Particularly Ponting's, but I love his pulls/hooks too. But drives slapped back past the bowler are the best. Cover drives when the batsmen get down on their back knee look good, I'm still working on learning that myself.

    What is harder - a 5 wicket haul or a 100 ?

In my opinion the question was quite decent, a good thread topic

    What is harder - a 5 wicket haul or a 100 ?

I've actually been thinking about this, but a 5 wicket haul could be easier, because a bowler has so many chances, and a bit of luck can get them wickets, where as a batsman only has to make 1 mistake and its all over for him. Definitely a good question and topic.

This. Obviously a bowler will get a 5fa and a batsmen a century easier, but it's tons.

Dominating at tea, seeing a Hussey ton on home soil after so long would be brilliant. Unfortunately I'm going to miss some of the last session though. :(

Hussey is improving, finding the middle. Should have set himself up for a high score now.

Loving these two, if at least one doesn't go on to ton, then that's very disappointing on our behalf. Clarke to get runs, hopefully Hussy can make a few too. Hoping only the top 5 need to bat TBH. EDIT: **** **** **** **** **** WHOLY ****ING MOTHER****ING ****.

3/350 odd at the end of the day, IMO. About 1/220 odd at tea as well.

I missed Ponting's 4 and 6 in the last 5 balls, because I had taped it cus I had to go outside and do something, then I could skip ads when I came back. Turns out my recording time was wrong, I'm such a knob. Devo as now. Punter and Katich to still be there at tea.

YES YES YES YES YES! Ponting to ton up, first game of series, first game of summer, at the Gabba. It's all set up. It's Punters stage to shine. The summer of Cricket has begun! Loving these tunes and the look of channel 9's coverage, bring back memories and is pretty awesome. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Getting the day off school to watch the first day of the summer of cricket. I'm so excited, I can't wait. Stuff daylight savings, I want the game to start at 10 here as well. I'll be so disappointed if we have to bowl first or if Ponting doesn't bat or makes a low score today. If Ponting tons...

Not that I've been following cricket at all lately, or even using this section of CW, with the series starting tomorrow, I've ventured back. And from what I heard at school he is. How's everyone planning on following these games. I'm taking my old phone to school with me, so I can use the radio...
