    1st Match - Pakistan v New Zealand

No, if Babar had played proper cricket he would've had a run-a-ball hundred by now. Playing 15 off the 30 odd overs bowled and saying others didn't score runs doesn't make sense

    1st Match - Pakistan v New Zealand

I feel like Pakistan just don't put genuine efforts to correct the mistakes they've been making (I don't watch a lot of their bilaterals so correct me if I'm wrong). They've been making the same mistakes since forever: playing too defensively and being over-reliant on a new ball heavy bowling...

    1st Match - Pakistan v New Zealand

I see Pakistan and England as polarly opposite teams with similar issues. England don't make enough runs for their bowlers to defend, and Pakistan don't take enough wickets to give their batters a target they can chase. On the other hand, Afghanistan and New Zealand to me seem like teams who...

    1st Match - Pakistan v New Zealand

15 overs for 64 runs. Quite brilliant.

    1st Match - Pakistan v New Zealand

I mean you can find ways to defend even 36(174). But at the end of the day, it doesn't matter. This 59(86) isn't getting them anywhere closer to a win than what the other batters have done.

    1st Match - Pakistan v New Zealand

No, I could name many, those were just the 2 that came at the top of my head. Both Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan were quite brilliant at run chases. David Warner is also a name that stands out. You might want to put Herschelle Gibbs purely for that 175 (He might have more, haven't looked into...

    1st Match - Pakistan v New Zealand

Babar has made 565 runs in 15 games @41.14 and a strike rate of 94 in 280+ chases since the 2019 WC. Decent numbers, but I haven't even checked whether these are full strength or second string attacks. As I said, he's one of the best No. 3s in the world for sure. But you're throwing around the...

    1st Match - Pakistan v New Zealand

What exactly? I only stated my opinions based on my observations.

    1st Match - Pakistan v New Zealand

That might work for him in bilaterals against second string lineups. But this is a big event. The scoreboard pressure comes at you much harder. Rohit Sharma was much better at this style of cricket than Babar ever was; but he realized that it isn't going to work anymore and changed his style...

    1st Match - Pakistan v New Zealand

Yes, but that doesn't justify scoring barely 3 runs an over. The target is 320. You have to take risks instead of blocking.

    1st Match - Pakistan v New Zealand

Rourke is an exciting talent. I like what he brings to the table.

    1st Match - Pakistan v New Zealand

Pakistan lacks fearlessness to chase 320. They might've done it against second string lineups, but this is a potent NZ attack. They had only one aggressive batter at the top and he's injured too. All others are spoiler batters who aren't going to pose much of a threat. Seriously, 20-1 in 8...

Symonds vs. Maxwell: who makes an Australia ODI all-time XI?

Whom would you remove though? I rate Watson very highly (top 5 ODI ARs ever), but I don't see a spot for him in this team. His best position is either opening or No. 5, and he doesn't fit in either of those spots in here.

    All time England ODI XI

Roy, Bairstow, Root, KP, Morgan, Flintoff, Jos, Swann, Anderson, Gough, Willis That's a really shitty bowling lineup for an all time XI, ngl. I think only Bangladesh has a worse attack among top 8-10 countries.

Symonds vs. Maxwell: who makes an Australia ODI all-time XI?

How about both? Gilchrist, Warner, Ponting, Jones, Bevan, Symonds, Maxwell seems like an amazing top 7. Mike Hussey is quite a miss but his WC record is quite duh. If we have to compare individually, Symonds is a far superior batter.

Better combo round II. Sobers & Marshall vs Sachin and Imran

Pakistan had an above average batting too. Abbas, Miandad, Imran were good and Saleem Malik was an okay cricketer. Hadlee played a lot against Pakistan before his county stint. His record against Pakistan after the county stint (which we know and remember as THE Richard Hadlee) is quite...

Better combo round II. Sobers & Marshall vs Sachin and Imran

West Indies was superior as a batting team as well. Greenidge, Haynes, Viv, late Lloyd and Richardson is a good batting lineup, easily the best of its time. India had an interesting lineup. Amarnath, Gavaskar, Vengsarkar and Vishwanath were all good batters but they were never rated that highly...

Better combo round II. Sobers & Marshall vs Sachin and Imran

Sobers and Marshall, quite easily. Even if we keep aside all-round abilities, the difference between Sobers and Sachin as batters is much lesser as compared to that between Marshall and Imran as bowlers. Not to mention, Marshall's batting would be much more handy than Sachin's bowling.
