Good to see Parny back. Morne's bowling well. He must have worked really hard over the summer. Steyn is a definite concern. Looked all over the place.

ATWA. He seemed to be not favoured with the selectors after the Aussie game where he walked.

If Amla has a good series, it'll be sad to let him go when Kallis gets back.

This thread made my day, along with the Muppet version of Bohemian Rhapsody.

Where does Vettori rank all-time as an all-rounder?

My estimate: Pollock in ODI batting >>>>> Vettori in ODI batting Pollock in ODI bowling >> Vettori in ODI bowling Pollock in Test bowling >>> Vettori in Test bowling Pollock in Test batting over career >>> Vettori in Test batting before 2006 Pollock in Test batting over career <<< Vettori...

I think there were more girls who graduated when I finished matric. In my class, there were only 8 guys out of 30. Alex is in an interesting location though, right on the edge between Korston and Newton Park so I think we got kids from all walks of life.

Alex represent. Too bad it's renown for it's hockey and not its cricket.

    Careers ruined by injuries

Brett Schultz. Donald, Pollock, and Schultz in the 90's would have been sight to see.

Albie might get the chop this time around if Morne comes back into the team. If he does, I'm not sure who should play at 6. Probably McLaren but his batting isn't that up to snuff in my opinion. I'd probably take a gamble and play Roelof there.

A sad day for SA cricket

The top order didn't fire last time. That's not because of lack of talent. Amla and Peterson who are both fringe players scored 50s.

A sad day for SA cricket

The first competitive ODI game and it's "a sad day for SA cricket"? Really? Did you forget the beating that we delivered last week?

    CSA worried about crowd attendance...

He averaged 40 against Australia which pretty damn good. He hasn't scored as much in SSS but these aren't reasons to drop him and tinker with a batting lineup that beat the Aussies but an innings. The reason why SA lost at home to the Aussies was because of Mitchell Johnson, injuries and...

    CSA worried about crowd attendance...

Yes. If he didn't, Lopsy would have taken his spot in Australia. I think you're oversimplifying the reason why Ntini is still in the team because he hasn't done as badly as you think. I think you're mixing his ODI form with tests and I have a tedancy to do that too. He averages 32 over the last...

    CSA worried about crowd attendance...

Do you think players like Gibbs, Langers, Parnell, Ntini, Virus, Prince, Duminy and Tsotsobe aren't being picked on merit?

    CSA worried about crowd attendance...

They might tinker with the order in later less competitive series but not this one (unless things become woeful). Khan was the temp solution more than Prince. You can bet they were trying to find a place for him in the team because he averages over 47. Khan scored 20 and Prince scored 150...
