Really like the look of Jaensch. Have heard he's a bit of a **** **** but can definitely play.

Also, I'm bemused at how a particular player's salary could influence how frustrated you get with them not playing? HowardJ, would it make you feel better about Brown being perpetually injured if he was on $100k a year?

Heh. Pretty glad I've gone against all my inclinations so far this weekend. Couldn't take the price when I found out Watson was out (and Stanton was in).

This. I've always thought it was a bit generous of the umpires to pay free kicks for high contact to guys that clearly have no brains.

I'm a bit more bullish about Brisbane's prospects than most but there's no denying that there's no reward for finishing down the bottom in the next few years. Where they might get lucky is that they've picked a lot of guys who do the flashy things in the second/third rounds of the last two or...

Um... I think Browny is way down the list for guys you should be giving it to at Brisbane for taking up space in the salary cap for whatever reason. It's not like it even matters right now given you lost core players like Brennan and Rischitelli last year, and Power and Black are both veterans...

I think you might be right unfortunately. Usually it's the Friday games where the outsider goes off too, so I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people are predicting it.

Essendon v Richmond - Essendon to be winning at quarter time, $1.70 with Sportingbet. Despite how much I want Essendon to lose, Richmond haven't won a first quarter yet this year. Bit odd for me to be punting on a Thursday, but I think that's just about good enough.

Sounds like Mark Harvey is back into 'make excuses to avoid scrutiny' mode. After bizarrely whinging about West Coast's very late replacements on the weekend (bizarre considering it was Kerr and Embley out for Sheppard and Gaff and they got beaten by over 5 goals anyway), now he is claiming he...

Luckily there are some other factors that count other than whether or not you turn up to the game, like for example Jonathan Brown coming back. I think he'll be rusty but his presence will have an impact on the rest of the team. North Melbourne haven't beaten Brisbane at the Gabba since 2005...

That's the great thing about Essendon, no matter how well you guys are playing you'll still drop a game to some scummy arse-licking team, probably Port Adelaide in round 23. Hope Richmond win this week.

Just finished watching the Derby on Bigpond, amazed that I managed to live in a bubble since last night and not somehow spoil the result for myself, usually it just doesn't work out. Good win without Kerr and Embley, there really wasn't all that much experience in the side once they came out...

Dennis Lane is a forward pocket, Jetta is a wingman. Makes a comparison between the two pretty pointless.

Went to the TAB to try and get on the under 190 but it was gone by the time I got there. ****s. Saw Sam Michell out on Glenferrie Road though.
