    Jacques Kallis vs Keith Miller

...bowling. And the first part he was a good seamer/swinger roughly comparable with the other first changers but was only held back by bowling load. I still think Imran and Sobers were better in their secondary disciplines but I think Kallis bowling is roughly where I would say Kapil's...

    Jacques Kallis vs Keith Miller

I have decided to switch my vote to Kallis now. I now consider him the 3rd best AR.
  3. subshakerz

    Kallis’s bowling vs Imran’s batting

...Early age yes. Injuries maybe. Or in Pontings case staying in the team to help in transition. I am willing to accept that we contextualize Kallis the bowler for a shorter period though, perhaps until 2009, as you can argue he played almost 15 years until that point. That is a fair argument...

    Tendulkar/Hobbs vs Marshall/McGrath

But why it should just be pace bowling and ARs by your criteria.
  5. subshakerz

Which bat does best against his own team?

Assuming a series on home soil, what is your estimate average for these bats at their peaks? Viv vs Holding, Garner and Roberts Ponting vs McGrath, Gillespie and Warne Kohli vs Ashwin, Jadeja and Axel Smith vs Starc, Cummins and Hazelwood Kallis vs Steyn, Philander and Morkel
  6. subshakerz

    Kallis’s bowling vs Imran’s batting

It's very different for batsmen and for fast pace bowlers who have a much shorter shelf life.
  7. subshakerz

    Sobers vs Kallis

But his batting sucked there oddly.
  8. subshakerz

    Sobers vs Kallis

    Deadbat maybe.
  9. subshakerz

    Battle of the Middle Orders

Low blows. Expected better from you.
  10. subshakerz

    Battle of the Middle Orders

Yeah, it's very close between them.
  11. subshakerz

    Battle of the Middle Orders

Which middle orders are better for an average side? Just in batting only. Tendulkar, Dravid and Laxman vs Ponting, Mark Waugh and Steve Waugh Richards, Lloyd and Richardson vs Amla, Kallis and ABD Younis, Yousuf and Inzi vs 3Ws Trott, KP and Collingwood vs Kohli, Pujara and Rahane

    Imran vs hadlee

Sure. My general sense here though is Imran is more rated as a pacer than Kallis as a bat. Maybe using rankings isn't the best way to determine that. I don't think Kyear will argue with that. Which is why the Hammond Kallis vs Hadlee Imran comparison is not 1:1 as he suggests.

    Imran vs hadlee

You abuse me post and post, don't lecture me on tone man. I am only talking about CW opinion because you were addressing CW opinion. It's not an authority for me. Anyways, when we compare Hadlee and Imran, we are comparing them as pacers and then secondary bats. Hadlee is the 3rd best pacer...
  14. subshakerz

    Imran vs hadlee

...but clearly ahead. There are like three to four places separating Hadlee and Imran. And they generally rate his batting slightly better than Kallis' bowling. http://www.cricketweb.net/forum/threads/kallis%E2%80%99s-bowling-vs-imran%E2%80%99s-batting.91481/ And of course Imran is rated here...
  15. subshakerz

    Imran vs hadlee

    Hmm you might be right.
  16. subshakerz

    Imran vs hadlee

If I am ranking cricketers based purely on record and not overall greatness of legacy, etc. it would be quite a few ARs. Bradman Sobers Imran Hadlee Tendulkar Hobbs Marshall Miller Kallis Viv and McGrath will be there somewhere between 6 to 11.
  17. subshakerz

    Wally Hammond vs Jacques Kallis

    Didn't address my points.
  18. subshakerz

    Name the test Cricket Trophy

In all seriousness it should be the Ponting-Kallis Trophy.
  19. subshakerz

    Wally Hammond vs Jacques Kallis

Sure slips have slightly more chances but we can't ignore runs entirely. Having a strong cover/gully gives a lot of confidence and builds pressure for the bowler.
  20. subshakerz

    Wally Hammond vs Jacques Kallis

Lol. I rate Steyn ahead of Imran as a bowler.
