    Waqar Younis vs Javed Miandad

Waqar and Miandad were both top draw. Waqar pre-injury was clearly the fastest and most destructive quick in the world. I give a slight edge to the T1 ATG pacer.

    Younis Khan vs Graeme Smith

Smith opens which is harder but purely as a bat Younis Khan was better. That said, Smith makes more XIs as the number of great openers is very small.

Brian Lara vs AB de Villiers

I usually consider "modern" from 1970 when covered wickets were normalized. From 1990, I cannot see a better test bat than Lara.

Brian Lara vs AB de Villiers

Lara is the best test bat of modern times.

    ***Official*** Warm Up Matches Thread

No, the WI lads have had a real run in T20i of late.

    ***Official*** Warm Up Matches Thread

Something incredible seems to be brewing in WI T20 cricket again.

    John Snow vs Stuart Broad

I am not looking at 1 game in isolation. Broad was a fine bowler, but Snow had more of that dog in him. Was the more menacing operator for me.

David Gower vs Inzamam ul Haq

Both excellent bats but I would favour Inzi overall.

Group C - West Indies, Afghanistan, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Uganda

WI and NZ would be the better qualifiers in terms of long term tourney quality.

Group A - India, Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, United States

India will waltz through the group, but then it is close. Pakistan look terrible and may well fall to any of the other sides.

*Official* Pakistan in England 4 T20is

No such thing. I am quite neutral when it comes to cricket and analysis. The facts are this: England have an incredible white ball side - one of the great ones and have for a few years. They may not win this particular cup as an off day can always happen, but they are always going to be serious...

    Ricky Ponting vs Dennis Lillee

I would take Lillee in an XI if I could choose only one of these.

What is your definition of a match-winning innings?

You can easily filter it to include only tests between the 8 proper sides.

What is your definition of a match-winning innings?

Noted that Inzi was in the list of heroic last stands twice. Inzamam was clutch as a batsman. Obviously his record has holes and he's not a T1 ATG but he is a great player. His record in wins is tremendous - averaging 78 including 17 of his 25 tons. He also ave 50+ for Pakistan with the 0.5 run...

    T20 Blast 2024 (Started on 30th May)

England are producing more T20 talent than any other side in the world. A production line of gifted, aggressive strokemakers who can slay any bowling. Bowlers who are quick and skilled with variations for all opposition. This is a golden age.
