    Bairstow Dismissal

As it stands the law is vague. When it relies on interpretation as to when the ball is dead (by it being regarded as dead by both teams, which is pretty vague) situations like this will be created. Why not just say the ball is not dead until the keeper throws it to a teammate at slip or back to...

    Bairstow Dismissal

Conveniently being used by the English to paper over the fact that they’ve been outplayed and their supposedly amazing gameplan doesn’t actually hold up that well under pressure against a good team

Predict the year we’ll see the implementation of AI umpiring

Basically true. Which is why I’m wondering if we’ll cross over sometime in the next 5-10 years to a system that incorporates Hawkeye, no balls, and ultra edge/snicko instantaneously, thereby making on field umpires more or less redundant

Yeh I just don’t understand this. Do you mean if he played in the modern era or what? He WAS a 99 averaging batsman in an era where the other best batsmen averaged 50 with a few averaging a bit more. Same as today

Predict the year we’ll see the implementation of AI umpiring

I imagine within a decade we won’t have human umpires onfield but a robot/machine capable of making immediate and correct decisions on both lbw and no ball, as well as the fundamentals of counting balls/overs etc
