    Andy Flower vs Alan Knott

Please tell me you're joking. Knott scored hundreds against Lillee/Thomson, Holding/Roberts and one against Imran (though before he hit his peak).

Who is greatest Australian batsman since bradman

    Smith> Border> Ponting> Chappell> Waugh
  3. OverratedSanity

    Andy Flower vs Alan Knott

On what basis is their batting being stated as better as though it's obvious. Carey averages 31 and Smith has played 9 games.

*** Official *** Sri Lanka in South Africa, Nov 27 to Dec 9 2024

That philander one vs australia in the 47 allout test maybe close
  5. OverratedSanity

    Gilchrist Vs Donald

Batsmen who bat below 4 (arguably 3) aren't even real batsmen imo.
  6. OverratedSanity

    Jasprit Bumrah vs James Anderson

This is in those countries, not against. And from 2014-2024, NZ have been very easily a stronger batting team than SA. Also, Walsh/Pollock had meh bowling records in Australia too.

Kimber in the video posted before.

    Jasprit Bumrah vs James Anderson

Picked up 140 wickets @ 24 in the last 10 years of his career. Pretty good averages everywhere. What arguably holds him back is the low WPM, but he's really not as far away from ATG status on quality as you think. he's about Pollock/Walsh level for me.
  9. OverratedSanity

    Andy Flower vs Alan Knott

He'd literally make all of them. He'd even make the current Indian team on batting alone considering the form of most of the batsmen lmao.

    Ashwin vs Kumble

What kind of explanation would be convincing to you
  11. OverratedSanity

    Andy Flower vs Alan Knott

It's one thing to claim Flower wasn't a bad keeper. It's another to claim he was better than Gilchrist (who was genuinely excellent with the gloves). It's one of the worst cricket opinions I've ever heard.

Where will Steve Smith end up being ranked?

Yes it doesn't matter if we've had this discussion before, that doesn't make you automatically right, probably just makes you wrong twice lol. His Ashes is arguably in the top 5 non Bradman series anyone's ever had, obviously it's not as good as that, so pretty meaningless statement.

Just How Good Was Barry Richards?

That even in the sample of WSC tests and ROW tests you provided, his performance was probably still slightly overblown by some people here (literally in the post I was quoting) I'd heard his WSC runs being described as coming against the highest level of competition and it turns out it's just a...

Just How Good Was Barry Richards?

Am I missing some WSC games of his? I assumed he smashed around the great Windies pacers a few times the way people go on about his WSC exploits. I only did a casual search though, so glad to be proven wrong.
  15. OverratedSanity

Just How Good Was Barry Richards?

Richards scored 2 tons in WSC and both look like excellent knocks from the scorecard but the attacks in those games was good, but nothing extraordinary, or "above test level" like people portray. It was some mix of Lillee/Walker/Gilmour/Bright. Scorecards below...
  16. OverratedSanity

Where will Steve Smith end up being ranked?

Smith scored 500 runs in the series and the next top scorer on his team averaged 29. Only two other batsmen who played the whole series even averaged above 35. You can debate how tough the pitches actually were for batting, but whatever the reasons were, batsmen found run making really difficult...
  17. OverratedSanity

    Andy Flower vs Alan Knott

People are allowed to think Flower was a good keeper if they want but I find it funny how people assume there's no one here who actually remembers how good/bad his keeping was. I , @Prince EWS and a few others remember his keeping not being great and have said so. You can disagree if you want...
  18. OverratedSanity

Barry Richards vs George Headley vs Graeme Pollock

Aesthetically, I like Pollock's batting more, but Headley broke through as an ATG batter from a minnow nation (at the time) which is very rare.

Rank India's test wins in Australia since 2000

Yeah but Ajit Agarkar of all people rolling over the greatest batting lineup ever is pretty crazy
