Damn that Is a disdainful af shot from Root there. Pant-esque.

Guess Crawley has decided to just throw his hands at it and got 4 boundaries. He looked a walking lbw against Southee.

Also sums up Nzls luck that the backup keeper is taking a catch between his nuts like that.

Happy for leach that he's doing well here. Seems like a nice guy. It looks like Nzl are definitely going to miss Patel's services here. Don't understand why Bracewell was getting out slogging again.

That was a sitter. Don't expect him to drop those. If this game is anything to go by it is going to prove very costly.

Chris Harris of all people had a pretty decent series too. Don't think he did much in test cricket other than that. England also had a revival of sorts after this series in reaction to th criticism for losing it. The good performances in subcontinent followed under Hussain when no one gave them...

Matt Horne somehow made a century in one of those games where it looked like every other ball you could Nick off. Nzl had a few of those guys who were forgettable but made such contributions in memorable wins.

England again scoring at a very brisk rate after being 6 down for not much and looking at conceding a big lead. A consistent pattern throughout the series. Definite baz effect there.

*Official* Australia tour of Sri Lanka 2022

It feels like the finisher role has gained a premium in recent years because of how they often have to get going immediately without having the time to get their eye in. An avg of 35 considering that is exceptional imo.

New Zealand doom and gloom thread

You have to keep in mind rising expectations too. That period was a big improvement from what came before but you are expected to win handsomely and on a consistent basis now which is a shift in itself. Nzl had a few express pacers who should have been knocking on the doors of the test team by...

Come off it. You'll play worse than this and still win.

Batted like a man possessed, very reminiscent of Gibbs in 2006 and Astles 200 but the latter wasn't on the final day of the Matxh to decide it I think. Game has been lit, the only thing I can say.

This short pitched filth at gentle pace clearly isn't working. Try something else.

Damn 6 down the ground. bairstow is in ipl mode.

Is it fair to say they are missing Jamiesons bowling? No frontline spinner and Southee also hasn't had the best of games.

Gotta be one of the most interesting 500 plays 500 game I've seen, if not the most. McCullum has rubbed off on England already by the looks of it.

Kuldeep has a similar problem in test cricket. This guy should do well in LOIs where wrist spinners are making hay in general. That flight, drift and pace at which he bowls will deceive many batsmen who come down the wicket.

I don't quite mind parkinsons bowling. It would be just like this strange game if both teams now bat as if it was a flat road after that first innings. These runs are worth twice as much in the games context.

    *Official* IPL 2022

Csk have scored 200 + multiple times which tells me that their batting is working well. It's the bowling in some close games that has let them down. They're missing both Chahar and Hazelwood.
